Advantages: Excellent rides, suitable for everyone Disadvantages: Price is high for some people
I have now visited Drayton Manor Park about five or six times during the last ten years or so, and it has never failed to be a fun day out, and money well spent. The park has this year been voted to be the best family day out throughou the whole of the UK, which as far as I know, is pretty accurate. The park is not in the same league as Alton Towers for example. But you do not pay the price ofalton towers, or have to queue for anywhere near as long ... ...towers. The main advantage of drayton manor is that it is just the right size to be able to get on all of the rides that you want to, within one day. ----------Ticket Prices----------

Advantages: Unique rides, fun for kids. Disadvantages: Quite small
Drayton Manor Theme Park is set near Tamworth in Staffordshire which first opened it's gates all the way back in 1949. The theme park is home to many thrilling and unique rides as many of it's rides hold the title of 'Only... in the world/ Europe' which gives this theme park a bit of an edge over others. Drayton Manor is open this year between 24th March and 28th October which is the traditional theme park season as we should have some of the better weather by the summer, I hope! The gates open to the park at 9:30am each morning in time for the rides to open at around 10:30am .The rides stay open until about 6pm when you'll have to leave. I'd advise getting there early to make the most of your day. You'll end up missing out ...

Advantages: Good choices for all the family Disadvantages: It has a litter problem
Drayton Manor has a tough job because of its location. It is within a reasonable travel time to both Alton Towers and West Midlands Safari Park therefore it has a lot of competition on its door step. What it has done is to very carefully position itself within its target market, it probably knows that it cannot compete with Alton Towers for the age 15 to 30 thrill seekers but it does need to still offer that age group something so it very much aims ... ...What I like about Drayton Manor is that there is something for all ages and as our group included a six and three year old as well as teenagers it was great that the little ones had loads of rides. The big new attraction is Thomas Land, what I really liked was that it had a manned entrance and kids over twelve have to be accompanied by an adult, this keeps the thirteen and fourteen year old school kids out and makes it a more peaceful and a cleaner ...

...and googling we decided that Drayton Manor was the only theme park within striking distance that seemed to have something for everyone. Not that one hour and fifty minutes is particularly within striking distance. Fortunately, the layout of Drayton Manor is such that just across from the younger rides are the thrill seeking rides so, off they went to enjoy “Maelstrom”, a huge spinning hammer, “G-Force”, a looping rollercoaster and “Shockwave”, a standing up looping rollercoaster. Advantages: Compact area and some good rides, Thomasland is nice. Disadvantages: Looks tatty and needs a bit of TLC
Drayton Manor is a long established Theme Park in Tamworth, Staffordshire. It is easily accessible from the M42 and is well signposted. The car parks are massive and look as if they would be adequate even on a very busy day. I visited with my two children in October on a school inset day so the park was relatively quiet.

Maelstrom cannot be missed as you enter the park. This big circular swing was a favourite with my son and daughter although I wimped out and my friend claimed it made her feel sick! Shockwave is a thrilling stand-up coaster and G-force is an inverted coaster. Due to the fact it was quiet on the day we visited they did not have both rides running all day, one opened later and one shut early so ...

Drayton Manor is located about 5 miles from Junction 9 of the M42 near Tamworth in Staffordshire. Drayton Manor also houses a Zoo and this too can be found in this part of the park. The Zoo did have some large mammals like Tigers and Leopards and also a lot of apes, monkeys and birds. After having recently been to Jersey Zoo this Zoo did leave a lot to be desired. The animals were caged in and the pens did not seem too big in some cases. All the structures also looked a bit unkempt and need of some care.

Drayton Manor Park is situated in Tamworth, Staffordshire, another theme park that is only around half an hours drive from where I live so always worth a visit once in while. Drayton Manor Park is very easy to get to, signposted all the way as you get closer to it from Lichfield. Advantages: Fast entry, good play-park, variety of rides & amusements Disadvantages: Pricey, overcrowding (especially in Thomasland)
...took our young son to Drayton Manor last week primarily to visit Thomasland. My wife and I are not particularly keen on theme parks but it seemed like a good idea with it also having a zoo and some rides specifically suited to that age group. Drayton Manor is situated in Tamworth, Staffordshire and is a privately owned and funded family theme park. The park features a good collection of thrill rides and family attractions and has its own zoo and a Thomas The Tank Engine themed land for kids. Teenagers also get agitated at this proespect and push and shove their way through the crowds (or so I noticed.) ...
