Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere. Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.

I've been to Dubai twice now, once when I was one, too young to remember anything, and again three years ago. All I got to say is WOW!
I didn't know what to expect when we decided to visit family in Dubai, I had no idea what is was going to be like, but assumed for some reason it was going to be similiar to India.

We flew with Emirates, and the jounrny took about six hours from London Heathrow Airport. I was really looking forward ... ...for some reason I assumed Dubai was a developing country and was quite poor, so was half expecting to see homeless people on the streets...boy was I wrong, on our journey way down to my uncle's home, the scenery was so modern! Beautiful buildings, the architecture, the cleaniness of it all.

I have been travelling on Emirates from 2001 and me and my wife had accumulated about 30,000 skyward points. Of this about 13,000 were to expire on End-Sept-2005 and I thought it may be a good idea to use them. There was a London to Dubai offer for 20,000 points to be used in October and I picked it up. We flew from London Heathrow by EK006 on 28-October-2005 and came back on 2-Nov-2005.
The Investigation:- I used the internet ... ...information that I got on Dubai from the site was great and very up to date. But as it is a paid site all cannot get the information from there.
The Money:-
I made a big mistake of taking UAE Currency from the UK. I bought AED 6.16 for a £ from Lloyds Bank, Thomas Cook was giving at AED 5.73 / £. When I landed in Dubai, the exchange rate at the airport was AED 6.49 / £. Thus I lost almost 5 % value because of my mistake of getting the currency ...

Dubai is the second emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and lays along the shore that face the Arab Gulf.
Dubai is divided in two parts by a small creek. The southern section is called Bur Dubai while the northern is Deira. The two sections are linked by two bridges, Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud, and one tunnel, Al Shindagha.

Dubai is not just the capital of the world for duty free cosmetics (I'll get on to that in a minute!) its also a terrific destination if you like unsurpassed luxury and customer service AND! if you can tolerate furnace like temperatures!
Dubai is just a seven hour flight from the UK and therefore ideal for a short break.
It is definitely a luxury destination and you'll never find any last minute bargain packages,however,if you shop around you should ... ...good place to start.
Dubai is not huge but all of the hotels are in the six star category with prices to match for food and drink.
A stunning feast for two in the Dubai Forte Grand Hotel costs around £60.00.
Alcohol is freely (not exactly free at around £4.50 for a pint of lager!) available for tourists in hotels, so don't fear having your little toe chopped off as punishment for taking a tipple.

Dubai is a very cosmopolitan city with people from all over the world of different religions living together in peace. I know some might think “but what about all the troubles in the Middle East”, but please take my word for it we have witnessed none of this in Dubai or surrounding areas and I can honestly say I have never felt safer.
The city continues to grow daily with new buildings, roads and shopping malls shooting ... ...residence of the ruler of Dubai called Al Faheidi Fort. It was renovated in 1970 to house the museum. You can see a typical bride preparation scene, a dhow (boat) unloading its wares and enter a souk of the 1950’s, you can even look into an Islamic school. You then enter an oasis, a wonderful tribute to the sea and archaeological finds from the area. A restaurant and children’s play area can also be found here. The entrance fees are Dhs3 (£0.50) ...

Advantages: Fantastic weather in March Disadvantages: Stupid car horns!
...looking forward to going to dubai since i started working for a travel agency because everyone told me how great it was. I decided to go see it for myself while i was hopping over to Hong Kong to see my family and since emirates are, in my opinion, such a good airline i decided that a long stopover would be a great idea on the way.
ACCOMMODATION
I stayed at Golden Sands 3 which is just outside the Diera district and part of a large chain in Dubai ... ...variety of good restaurants.
Dubai itself is crammed full of great hotels but nearly all the best ones such as the Hilton and Jumeira Beach Hotel (the wave) are situated around 20mins in a taxi away actually on the Jumeira strip. More are being developed such as the new Palms complex where im told David Beckham has already bought a suite but these are once again in Jumeira.
In my opinion Jumeira is the place to be. It has the only really great ...

I first went to Dubai to visit some friends. I immediately fell in love with the place. It is the only place that I have ever been to which would accomodate every type of break, a honeymoon, family holiday or a holiday amongst friends. I struggled to understand why anyone would visit Spain, Greece or in fact anywhere else in the world. This place has everything. Of particular interest were the shops. With the absence of copyright laws, the shops ... ...between 10 and 50 percent.
Dubai attracts some big names in entertainment. During my visits I watched Duran Duran and Maxi Priest, these play at the large beach resorts which accomodate thousands of tourists and have excellent facilities including English pubs, restaurants from all nations, swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms and their own stretch of beach which is raked early every morning to ensure that the water is clear, and free of sharp rocks ...

...Uncle and Aunt live in Dubai and have done for many years. The Family have made several trips there and we have all loved it so they chose to get married there.
And what a good choice they made! The wedding proved fairly easy to organise. Mum was able to communicate all her requirements through email with no language barriers and everyone was so helpful. They got married (offically) in a very beautiful church in the middle of the desert and then ... ...to be arranging weddings in Dubai soon!!
So here are my Top Tips for getting married in Dubai:
1. Laws for marriage in Dubai are not as advanced as ours, and you are not yet allowed to be officially married in a civil atmosphere. Dubai has a Church of England where you can offically marry and then proceed to a blessing in the hotel of your choice. The Vicar is English and is more than happy to carry out a 2nd blessing..at a cost!!
