Advantages: Very striking. You can't miss it!
Disadvantages: Cost loads of money

Eves view on the spike

Advantages: Wont get lost if you are drunk
Disadvantages: Waste of govenment money

...have just got back to Dublin for a weekend and went i got there i was amaized to find this 120 meter spike in the middle of a busy city centre street. The glow from the light on top of the spike is something else, but was told the lights cost some silly price. I do like the spike, it gives Dublin an bit of a mad side, just a little different than what you would expect. The one thing i did find was that, no mater how drunk you are, you cant get lost ...

But its there now and if its there then, i like it, and its worth going to Dublin just to see this strange, but nice spike. ...
