Reasonable rental but rigid rules

Advantages: Very cheap, new cars, easy online booking
Disadvantages: Inflexible rules, possible unavailability of car, excessive fines

Easy as is should be

Advantages: Reasonable renting charges. New cars
Disadvantages: Limited mileage. Too many rules for some

...only way to book an Easycar is to use the website. However this is far easier than some other websites as it is set out in a very easy to understand way. Navigation is very straight forward and the interface of clicking on the relevant days is fool proof. ...main money saving tool that easycar use is that their offices are basically a port cabin in a local car park. These are manned by a couple of staff and they do all the organising and distribution of the cars. I have to say that the man in Croydon was very helpful and if all of the port cabins are manned by the same quality of staff then this shouldn't be a problem. Terms and Conditions Lie and Customer Service Dreadful

Easycar Car and Van Rental Watch out for the terms and conditions Although they have no mention of needing a utility bill to rent a van you actually need two. After you have paid the money you are told you need them. At that point you are not able to get a refund. Apparently it's their policy! Pretty poor policy if you ask me.... Dreadful customer service which is an 0906 number by the way (according to 118118). Had to rent another van in the end ...

Alamo Desk stated clearly that was Easycar's error, they were also talking to Easycar and told them that no reservation was introduced in their system. I had to find a car by my own going desk by desk to all car rentals companies in the airport, I had to pay for a new car rental again, and a more expensive one as they were no cars available. AWFUL EXPERIENCE ALMOST RUINS HOLIDAY

Left stranded in Spain by easycar!!!

Advantages: Cheap but then again invisible cars would be!!
Disadvantages: Everything as they never even supplied the car

Tried phoning the easycar emergency number all weekend and it was closed, left three messages and my phone number, explaining the situation but still waiting for them to return the call. contacted another number today to be told i had to put it in writing and they would then consider if i get my money back or not!! Advantages: Nice New Cars, Cheap

Hired a car from Easycar earlier this year, between the 5th and 19th of March 2004 to be exact. I normally rent from Avis but I decided to give Easycar a go since they had opened an office at Heathrow and the price seemed very competitive. The 1st problem I had was trying to find their office. With is being so new they were operating out of the back of a transit van in a NCP Car Park to the rear of the Meridien Hotel. Not the easiest of places to ...
...credit card. Tried to contact Easycar via email and telephone (@ 60p per minute) didn't get much luck. Then a parking fine dropped through my letter box from the London Borough of Hackney. Umm, strange... I didn't go to Hackney. Seems someone at Easycar had kindly give my name as the culprit of a parking offence that occured on the 29th March, 10 days after I returned the car. Quick review of EasyCar

Good, tidy cars but we rented in Dublin for 2 days (2006) when we were there for a quick visit, unfortunately we were caught out on a piece of small print that we missed when booking online. When we collected the car we were made to pay €50 for a full tank of fuel before leaving the office, we didn't use the full tank in the two days and had to the return the car with over half the tank still remaining. We lost out... In my opinion that cars are ok, service is a little crap and the staff mostly don't care... Just read the small print ...

previously had no problems with easy car which was good because only my wife has a credit card and only I can drive. Not this time - the firm they sent us to wouldn't accept this and advised that we contact easy car for refend - guess what - "no refund". We are awaing a list of all the succesful rentals we have had from them where they have clearly broken their own policy and I will be on them to break the another policy - I want my money back! Trading standards here we come! ...

If there was a zero star rating for Easycar, that's what I'd give them. Eight of us needed to hire a car in Bristol over New Year so we plumped for 2 four seater cars as their max. size was for 7 people in a people carrier. We were told when we picked up the car that we had to return it with an empty tank. How environmentally friendly is that? This was because we were in the UK for five days. We returned both cars almost 3/4 full, so were over-charged £70 and Easycar will not reimburse. I think this is disgusting. DO NOT USE EASYCAR! They are not the cheapest. There are hidden charges. They are rogues and don't care about the customer. ...

Easy Car Rental Tenerife

We hired a car from Easycar online for a family medium MPV (Citroen Picasso) for a week collecting from Tenerife South Airport. Initally the quote was £160 for the week which seemed reasonable and it appeared from the website we would pay on collection of the car. When booking the car we were quoted right at the end for insurance which was another £40. Making the total £200. Annoyingly this was taken off my credit card as soon as I completed the ...

do not rent a car abroad through easy car as they contract the hire out to a local company and if something goes wrong easy car will do bugger all to help you out even though they take the initial payment.I have been trying for 4 months to get a £380 deposit back from a spanish company and easy car have washed their hands of it saying I should read the small print BEWARE. ...

Ruined our holiday - Don't care

When we arrived at the airport at 1.30 am their contractor (Sol Mer) told us they had no record of the booking and that they had no cars available. My wife, two infant children and myself would have been stuck in the airport if a friend hadn't driven for an hour from Javea to pick us up.
