Come On, Let's Fly - the easyJet way!

Advantages: Cheap, efficient service
Disadvantages: No free goodie bag!

...***A Bit of easyJet History*** easyJet Airline was founded in 1995 by the now famous Cypriot, Stelios Haji-Ioannou. With a loan from his father he leased two Boeing 737-200 aircraft and began operating flights from London Luton, where the head office "easyLand" is based, to Glasgow and Edinburgh, using contractors to supply nearly all the staff throughout the airline. Stelios retired as chairman in 2002 but has now back on the board as a non-executive ...
...from London Luton to Aberdeen, easyJet took delivery its first very own aircraft and also starting operating international flights, the first of which was from London Luton to Amsterdam. Until this time, reservations for flights were made by telephoning the reservations centre based with easyLand. In 1997 easyJet launched their information website www.easyjet.com and a year later the online booking facility was available. These days, around 98% ...

Come fly with me, lets fly, lets fly away...

Advantages: Cheap, easy to book, punctual
Disadvantages: No frills, no pre-booked seats

So how easy is EasyJet ? Having just had the 'orange' experience whilst visiting Amsterdam, I consider myself in a position to set the record straight... {}{}{} Who are EasyJet ? {}{}{} EasyJet airline co Ltd was founded by Stelios Haji-Ioannou in 1995 to take advantage of the deregulation of the European airline industry. EasyJet is a cheap and cheerful, 'no-frills' airline that was floated on the London stock exchange in November 2000. You might ...

The no frills delight!

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful
Disadvantages: Takes longer routes, prone to delays

...needed a cheap flight and Easyjet was my first port of call. I compared the cost with Ryanair and BA and whilst BA was cheapest for outbound flights, (£33) Easyjet was cheapest for return (£17) I considered it an absolute bargain and even if the flight went horribly wrong, it was only £17! *** The Company *** Founded by Stelios Haji-Ioannou in 1995, Easyjet has revolutionised European travel, making air travel cheap, and convienient. ...One of the reasons Easyjet can offer cheap rates is that it doesn't have any overhead costs. Therefore, you can only book by phone or save £5 and book on the internet. I decided to book the flight in my lunch hour, and it really is dead simple; visit www.easyjet.com and you are greeted with the rather unattractive orange colour scheme readily associated with the Easy brand. You then click on the flights page and will see all of the latest special ...

Easy Peasy

Advantages: Cheap, a lot of short haul destinations covered
Disadvantages: Not always the best deal, hidden charges

Easyjet is one of the more established budget airlines. The offer a no-frills (no ticket, no allocated seat, no free food, drinks or goodies) flight with all the same safety regulations that the regular carriers provide. For years my budget flights had pretty much been exclusively Ryanair, no doubt helped by my proximity to Stansted airport. For a recent trip to Budapest, Ryanair could not help, so we looked on the Easyjet website. BOOKING ONLINE ...
...a £1 fixed charge. Easyjet flights are non-refundable (although their website says this may be done on a discretionary basis in the event of bereavement) and there is a £17.95 fee to change a booking. Baggage restrictions change at the rate of knots these days and this is worth clarifying yourself before you travel, although I did find Easyjet e-mailed me regarding an update on toiletries which was helpful. Currently one 20kg bag is allowed in the ...

Low Cost doesn't always=Low Class

Advantages: Can be cheap, wide variety of destinations and routes, online booking, friendly cabin crew
Disadvantages: Can be pricey, no frills, not so good check in experience, out of town airports

As a former easyJet Cabin Crew Member I thought that I would write a review about easyJet and try to make it as unbiased as possible! About easyJet: EasyJet PLC is a short-haul low-cost airline established in 1995 by Stelios Haji-Ioannou and has come a long way from flying solely between Luton and Glasgow with two B737's leased from another airline. Today easyJet flies to 80 destinations and has 137 planes with a further 120 A319 planes on order. ...
...last financial year. EasyJet is 43% owned by members of the Haji-Ioannou family though unlike on the ITV series 'Airline' Stelios is no longer the main man running the airline. Andy Harrison is the CEO and is keen to make easyJet a more business-orientated airline and has made many changes. The airline employs around 4000 staff. Bases and Hubs: EasyJet's main base in London Luton (LTN) where the HQ is based. But the largest base in London Gatwick ...

Disadvantages: None (well Charles de Gaulle Airport)

...Firstly, it will cover Easyjet in a more general sense, talking about it’s services and everything. I will also within this review cover my own personal experiences of Easyjet and tell you more about the quality of service I found. As you may or may not know, Easyjet were one of the very first Low-fare airlines. I went to Paris in Christmas of 2002 on Easyjet and was impressed then ...

...I booked a flight with EasyJet from Belfast to Amsterdam, arrived at 7:30 on the dot to check in, and sat in the departure lounge eagerly awaiting my call to board. It never came. As a frequent business traveller, Easyjet makes my life much easier. ...here's my review of the Easyjet flights to follow up from the review of the easyjet.com booking process. Arriving at your airport all you need to do is turn up at the check-in desk with your ID and attempt to smile at the person behind the desk, but at 5.35 am after having been driving for an hour and almost being late due to the queue at the check-in for your car parking that is a challenge. Flying Easyjet With A 4 Month Old Baby

Advantages: Cheap, Frequent, Friendly
Disadvantages: Baggage handling and information re allowances very poor

...May 2002 I flew on Easyjet from Edinburgh to Gatwick with my (then) 4 month old little girl. I had flown many times before but this was my little girl's first flight. Budget Airline Flying High

Advantages: Cheap flights, friendly staff, swift check-in
Disadvantages: Limited destinations

I recently used the easyJet service for the first time, and I was so impressed and pleased with the majority of the experience, hence my need to inform you about them. The easyJet company is part of the easy group of companies. You’ll recognise an easy company by its excessive use of the colour Orange. Perhaps the most well known is the budget airline that I’ll talk more about in a mo. The other areas of the easy group currently encompass ...
...now! I flew easyJet from Luton to Belfast International on the Wednesday afternoon and returned 24 hours later. This was a business trip, and my company will use budget airlines wherever possible. This makes perfect sense in the ever increasing tightening of the belts that occurs in the business world. The return ticket was booked over the telephone at a cost of £65.00. This I thought was very reasonable. The company are trying to move away from ...

Free tickets - but make your own entertainment

Advantages: Offer some cheap flights
Disadvantages: Chose your own seats, no entertainment on longer flights

...LOW COST? Unlike most airlines, easyJet operate a reverse tarriff to most of the competition, in that the longer in advance you book the flight, the cheaper it will be. Flights can be booked up to around 6 months in advance via the internet, but only a month in advance if you to chose the old faithful communication tool and punch button automated operating system, the telephone. Flights booked on-line will receive a £2.50 discount each way, and ...

EASYJET appear to have invented ticketless airlines and all you actually need when you go to check in is your passport (for overseas, otherwise ID) and apparently your confirmation number - although they didn't actually ask for ours. Flight check-in opens 2 hours before scheduled take-off, and tickets can actually be purchased up to two hours before departure, although ...

good bargains offset other inconvenients

I fly very often EasyJet :it is the only 'cheap' airline that goes to Madrid and my family is over there. Before, there was Go, but usually came out more expensive. It is clear I do it for money rather than love but also because booking is so easy and quick.
