...as far as i'm aware, Easyjet OWNS luton airport.
Unfortunately, I'd arrived an hour earlier than intended - my driver had reckoned on there being traffic due to one of the depressed vauxhall workers jumping off a building somewhere - no entertainment today. So, we hunted for something to do. And quickly realised to our horror, the height of fun at this place was the burger king. Oh joy, oh joy.
Eventually, we were told that checkin would NOT be ... ...onto the runway. In all honesty, I couldn't get off that plane fast enough, and didn't want to get on the one back - which was just as bad.
Overall, Easyjet get a 1/10 - and thats only because I'm not cruel enoguh to give them a 0 ...

Easyjet is just one of those companies that will do well, whatever the economic climate. Their website has hundreds of thousands of hits per day and thousands of bookings! I first booksed with easyjet a few years ago when visiting family in Spain. Our relatives told us about the company so we visited their site and had a browse.
We were amazed at how cheap the prices were! We spent a couple of hours looking through different dates and prives varied ... ...we simply went to the easyjet desk, gave them the information that we were given and they gave us out tickets. We went to bording and got on the plane with no delays.
On the flight, it was quite basic, little leg room but very clean with very nice staff and crew. Before we took off they made sure that we were comfortable. Half way through the flight, we were given our dinner. Mashed potato, sausages and cabbage with onion gravy (very nice for airplane ...

Advantages: Cheap + Convenient Disadvantages: Basic. Peace of Mind
...a sandwich on all flights, Easyjet only fly to nearby European destinations so that is not a problem, but sometime the sandwiches could be fresher. The service is good. The planes are small and compact, so turbulence will give you a bumpy ride. That could be a problem for bad flyers and also, there are generally only 2-4 toilets on board. So there had better not be a drunk party travelling with you!!
All in all, a good wee trip! :) ...

Advantages: Low Cost Disadvantages: Bad customer service, food must be paid for, frequent delays
An Ode to Easyjet I'm sitting waiting on an EasyJet flight,
It's a horrible shade of orange and it doesn't look right,
We're waiting 35 minutes & its getting late,
There's nothing to do but sit, shiver and wait.
The pilot is unhelpful, trying to sound upbeat,
"We might get an earlier window" - I wish he'd turn up the heat,
The food all has to be paid for - and don't they tell it straight,
There's nothing to do but sit, shiver and wait.
What ... ...The incessant humming - what's causing that sound?
We are all sitting here thinking "this isn't great",
There's nothing to do but sit, shiver and wait.
Some have large newspapers, some play cards on the plane,
The pilot informs us the delays 'caus of rain,
Just give us something to do, something to create,
There's nothing to do but sit, shiver and wait.
Some look out of the window at the grass and distant leaves,
Some tell aircraft horror ...

Advantages: Cheap flights, excellent aircraft, friendly staff Disadvantages: Some delays due to short turnaround times
...a poor picture of the EasyJet experience, I was a little aprehensive to say the least when I booked Easyjet for a cheap 10 day Break to Alicante from Luton.
As it turned out I had probably the best flight experience I've ever had (Including most of the more glamorous Airlines), EasyJet Check in was quick, and painless, with Generous baggage allowances.
Easyjet do not Allocate seat numbers, but operate a system that means the earlier you check in, ... ...works quite well.
All EasyJet staff were friendly and helpful, the Plane was Immaculate, considering it has just disembarked 180 passengers 25 minutes earlier . . . . . I am quite tall and usually end up very cramped and uncomfortable on most flights, however I found the legroom to be better than any Charter flights I've ever used, and better than most Scheduled . . . . I had a very comfortable flight in both directions . . . . Easyjet do not have ...

Advantages: cheap flights to many destinations Disadvantages: price of food onboard
I first used Easyjet just over a year ago, when flying from Liverpool to Paris. I think it cost about £50 one way which made it by far the cheapest way to get there. For short flights of under two hours it's great. There's no frills obviously, but hey for that price who cares! I've used Easyjet about four or five times now, and in general the flights have always been on time, give or take 30 minutes.
The fact you can book online (easyjet.com) and ... ...With no reserved seats on Easyjet this can be a problem, as if in the mad dash to get a seat, you fail to find an aisle seat, this can make the flight hell.
A minor gripe I have with Easyjet is the scandalous prices of the snacks and drinks on board. I know it is a no frills airline, and you are a captive audience on a flight, but it does make me mad. My advice, take your own food.
In general though, I don't have too many complaints. The prices ...

Advantages: Cheap and easy flying! Disadvantages: Cramped seating is probably the worst thing
I must admit, when I was first told that I would be flying to Barcelona with Easyjet, I wasn't too impressed. So many things are said about low-budget travel, and I'd seen the TV series, with delayed flights, angry customers, and bored-looking staff.
So what a pleasant surprise to find that, in actual fact, the reality was nothing like the edited version on the telly.
Check-in was easy, the flight left on time, the cabin crew were polite and easy-natured, ... ...a scaredy-cat when it comes to flying, this was a big bonus!)
The luggage all arrived with us, and was actually whizzing around the carousel before we reached it, so there was no problem with waiting around. On the journey back, I must admit, the check-in staff were quite slow and uninterested, but from what I can gather, I believe they were actually employed by the airport, rather than the airline. Generally, a pain-free and simple way to fly to ...

Quick review of EasyJet - EZU
Have flown many times with Easyjet with very few problems. Did get stranded once not due to Easyjet but due to a problem at Luton Airport. Needed to get home for work the next day, booked flights from Gatwick for next morning. Easyjet refunded the money for the flight I had missed, the new rebooked flight and the price of the coach journey to Gatwick. I also received a £25 gift voucher about a month later. I have watched the Airline progeammes many times and heard the horror stories some passengers have told but thankfully have never had any problems with Easyjet, in fact would be my preferred airline to travel with. ...

Advantages: Cheap fares, ease of fare and availability enquiries Disadvantages: More destinations required.
...partner and I booked an easyjet flight to Barcelona last year after looking up comparetive fares to various destinations with different airlines on the internet The internet enquiry and booking procedures were quick and very simple. The cost of the flights were, in my eyes, a bargain. The return fares were under £50 each. A booking code was all that was required for travelling. On arrival at Luton Airport, the checking in procedure was quick, simple ... ...as efficient. All of the easyjet staff were courteous, very efficient and professional at all times. It was pleasing to see that only drinks and snacks were available, none of the cabin crew rushing about serving meals. If you can't last 2 hours without eating (and then complaining about the quality of the food), then in my book, don't fly. I would recommend this airline to anyone who wants a cheap, no frills flight, although early booking is necessary ...

Advantages: Cheapish flights to multiple destinations Disadvantages: Staff, legroom, onboard entertainment
I recently took an Easyjet flight to Cyprus from Manchester and can say it was a less than pleasurable experience. On both the outbound and inbound flight half of the radios were not working and there was not enough food/snacks to go around nearly a quarter of the plane, let alone the whole plane. I felt the whole operation was just a bit unprofessional, especially the checking in stage, which I found rather bizzare, whereby you are put into 4 lines/queues ... ...the plan. I found this a bit daft to be honest and a bit of a quick moneymaking scheme as you have to pay to get on first and who honestly wants to be sat on a plane waiting for other people to get on and waiting to take off, because I would rather just get on and get off ! I found the staff to be quite rude and a little bit clicky, having personal jokes amongst themselves as apposed to serving people in a prompt and timely manner. The flight its ...

...pretty disheartened to hear that Easyjet have stopped serving sandwiches on board their flights. In addition to this, they only stock up their trolleys once a day in order to cut costs. Apart from this, the flight is actually very pleasant and bears no difference from a charter flight. At the end of the day, when you are paying £65 for a return ticket to Alicante you cannot complain really. My advice is to purchase a Boot's meal deal before you board! ...

...such as Britannia. I joined easyJet last year and have enjoyed every moment so far.
At the moment we have 168 flights a day every day on 21 aircraft. By the end of the year this will be over 200 flights a day on 25 aircraft. As you can probably appreciate, when Luton airport fogs out or is closed by snow for any length of time something in the programme has to give.
We do not enjoy cancelling flights or delaying flights...the ideal scenario is ... ...departure.
That is why easyJet are so annoyed with Luton Airport and have sent them a bill for £700,000. Trains have leaves on the line...we have to put up with a snowflake on the runway.
This lack of foresight by the fat cats at Barclays ended up with 22 cancelled flights and 2000 disrupted passengers. The good news is Barclays have sold Luton Airport (at a vast profit). TBI are now the major shareholder...let us hope investment in the airport ...

Advantages: price Disadvantages: limited departure airports in UK
I used Easyjet from Luton to Edinburgh almost every week for the best part of a year. It was brilliant.
Easy booking, no hassle checkin, no faffing around whilst people try to find "their seat" because there is no allocated seating - just find one and sit in it.
Who wants to pay through the nose to get a "free" meal and a "free" newspaper? not me.
I can honestly say that in all that time, I never once experienced a delay of more than 15 minutes. ... ...to be done before take off), or people who turn up too drunk to be safe on the flight.
I cannot rate EasyJet too highly. Brilliant, no frills, service. If I have a gripe, it's that they do not fly out of an airport close to me, e.g. Birmingham. ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Lies, lack of responsibility, inaccuracy of booking
I would never use Easyjet's online hotel booking service again. We booked two hotel rooms in Amsterdam, one for a two adults sharing, and the other a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. We booked about 3 months before we were due to go. About 3 days before we were due to fly out there, they phoned us to say that they had messed up the booking and said that the hotel we booked doesn't do family rooms. This was a complete lie, I phoned the hotel ... ...there would have been no chance of getting another hotel. They offered us 3 rooms in another hotel, and we had to pay full price for this for the 2 nights we were staying there.
I was disgusted with the service, and their atitude of lying, and simply washing their hands of the situation. ...

Advantages: budget fares, quick check-in Disadvantages: no seat allocation
Made my first trip on Easyjet last weekend to Barcelona. Usually travel BA so was rather apprehensive as to how comfortable and on time it would be. It was great. Apart from Luton airport having only one de-icing machine which meant we were delayed one hour, the journey was comfortable. The stewardesses were v friendly & I liked the idea of the Easy Bar where you can buy a drink and a snack as you wish. No more cold salads & gherkin & indestinguishable ... ...time did not match the timetable.
I would certainly use them again - especially when great bargain fares are available.
Well done to Barcelona ground staff who boarded the aircraft in strict number rotation & sent passengers back to their seats if they tried to sneak on before being called.s fair. Luton ground staff also called numbers but everyone ignored the announcement and piled on. ...
