    Advantages Advantages Excellant Show

Disadvantages Disadvantages Exhausting for a Wheelchair pusher

Firstly I would like to say that myself and my family had an excellant time, the Tattoo was absolutely brilliant, it had, pipe bands from all over the world, Highland Dancers, Horse Parades, an Army Display to name but a few things. We went to the 10.30 show which had a firework display at the end of the performance, as far as I know they only do the big display on a Saturday Night at the 10.30 show. When we got to Edinburgh it was very busy, we had no trouble finding the castle, but had difficulty finding somewhere to park, but if you ask a policeman and tell them that you are disabled they ... more

    Advantages Advantages Brilliant show

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stands don't have roofs

I went on a luxery train tour to Edinburgh to see the Military Tatoo. On leaving the train at Waverly Station I took a local train across the Forth Bridge to North Queensferry - I would recommend a trip to that amazing pice of architecture to anyone in Edinburgh. Back at Waverly just by the station exit I joined a guide friday bus tour, very intresting taking me round the city. Then, at around quater past eight I started heading up the royal mile towards the spectacular castle, it's esplande is the venue for the Tatoo. The show was sheer brilliance! Music from all over the world, from Trinidad ... more

Advantages Advantages Great display from the worlds finest musicians

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be cold up on the castle if the weather turns

I went to the Edinburgh Tattoo for the first time two years ago, it was fantastic! Over the years I have been to the Royal Tournament a few times and too be honest am bored with it, I though the Tattoo would be much of the same. HOW WRONG COULD I BE. The Tattoo is in a class of its own, the number of people entertaining us from around the globe was phenominal, as was the accoustics in the Castle. If the weather is clear and mild at the time the sound can drift for up to 5 miles apparently. There is stuff in the show for the kids like the stunt bikes but mostly is is the worlds finest military ... more

Advantages Advantages Situated in one of the UKs most beautiful cities

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very cramped, uncomfortable seating.

Seating is very cramped, really narrow seats and very little leg room. Acoustics not as good as I thought they should be. If you are planning to go, try and get seats close to the arena to ensure you get the best experience. Weather was dreadful and it would have been good if the seating areas could have been covered to shelter us from the torrential rain. Having seen the show on TV, I was really looking forward to seeing the show live. The performances were good considering the weather, however I was surprised how small the performing area was considering how it looks on TV. In my opinion ... more
