I stayed at the Edison Hotel in New York over New Years 2005/2006, and had a wonderful time. Although my first impression of the hotel was that it was just an ordinary building with lots of rooms like so many others in New York, but that opinion soon changed when I entered the hotel. Advantages: Rooms are spacious, clean, fresh and everyone is so friendly.
Disadvantages: No disadvantges, loved this place.

I visited this hotel with my school in February 2007 and there was a group of 40 with 5 teachers. The group included boys and girls, there were very welcoming when we arrived after a long flight from England and getting up a 4.30. They allowed us up to our rooms, which where very spacious and comfortable. They had big double beds, which could have easily have fitted three people in. The Edison Hotel, Is a clean basic hotel, that doesnt cost to much money and is in the centre of Times Square The Hotel: The Edison is located on west 47th street and Broadway and is literally steps from Times Square, Not even half a block! Edison hotel was built in 1931in true Art Deco style it is situated in the heart of New York. On 228 West 47th Street just half a block from Times Square and one block from restaurant row also either direction you'll have Broadway so the situation of this hotel is perfect. when checking in i was immediately greeted by friendly staff. as usual i thought a lift would take ages and we where on the 7th floor but suprisingly the lifts came quickly. on ... The edison hotel in time square is a good hotel overall. Starting with the location, I can't complain, It is a 20 second walk to the heart of times square and easy access to most places on manhattan. Inside the hotel, the reception area is quite good, very busy as it is New York but also because there is a diner connected to the hotel next to the reception, The lounge is tidy with comfy sofas but it is very small and no food or drink is allowed in, ... The Hotel Edison is right in the heart of the Big Apple so first off, perfect location! I stayed on about the 4 floor - i was with a big group of people but 4 of us stayed in a room with 2 double beds, as shown in the one above and we had ample room; they are of a really good size.
