I see the views regarding Eygpt airs services are rather mixed on here which is understandable as everyone has different expereinces depending on there situation. After undertaking my first journey with Eygpt airways I must say I found all aspcect of the journey excellent with some great added bonses, which were more to do with the scheduling of the flight but worth having knowelege of if your ever using the airline as these bonuses are standard ...

I flew with Egypt Air for the first time in October last year and I'm quite surprised at some of the reviews on here as I thought they were ok. My brother and I flew from Heathrow to Cairo and we had decided to go for Egypt Air as they were only around £300 and by far the cheapest carrier for our relatively short trip. Flew from London to Nairobi via Cairo in December 1999, returned in January 2000. The plane itself wasn't bad, the food was acceptable by airline standards (although hardly tasty). The problem is the Cairo exchange and the devotion to bureaucracy of the staff. The outward journey was unremarkable. Our flight - Gatwick - Cairo and back again. FLIGHT OUT The flight out has only praises to be made. The flight was on time, the staff pleasant and film mediocre. I just recently went on Egypt air and it was one of the worst airlines I have ever been on. I flew from London to Cairo to Sharm-El-Sheikh and then back to London. On every flight I went on there was always a delay. My flight back to London was delayed for 40 minutes because one of the security guards had lost the keys for the boarding door. The food was absolutely horrible; they served fish and beef only. I tried the beef and was just disgusting ...

On my way back to London I asked for beef and I couldn't believe they had run out and again I just ate the bread rolls. If you're a vegetarian then you won't enjoy the food. Flying with this airline is an experience indeed. I have flown only once and do not wish to repeat the experience. I flew from gatwick to cairo. The take off was fine but then they served the food. I say food but it was difficult to tell. it was not very hot and claimed to be chicken. ...always travel to Egypt on Egyptair because there is plenty of legroom - 32" which is more than BA. I use this airline about 5 times a year and have only ever had friendly helpful crew and good service. They are not really bothered about your luggage being a bit over the limit which is more than you can say for charters to Egypt! The Manchester office is really helpful and will go out of their way to sort out connections for you. If you are a smoker ...
...realise they are on a smoking flight and start protesting, wafting etc!!! OK - the food is nothing great but is it ever? You can also take your own alcohol and they supply free mixers. Japan to Egypt via Egypt Air. my wife and i travelled to Egypt for our HONEYMOON end of 2007 via Thai + Egypt Air, and re-confirmed our return trip on the same day before taking off. but when we finish our trip in Egypt and ready to go to Bangkok, Egypt Air kept us waiting 2 hours in the airport due to overbooking of our plane. they kept telling us NO PROBLEM but at the same time selecting and checking-in people behind us.
