    Air travel is becoming increasingly commonplace in the modern world. There will be few of us who have not flown before and nowadays,many more of us are involved in those long hauls to the Far-East and "Down-Under" that only 20 to 30 years ago were still very much an adventure.     When it came to booking our honeymoon we had many choices to make one of them included travelling on a reliable airline to help get the honeymoon off to a good start as being cramped and having a horrible flight is not what I would call a good start. As we had decided to book with Tradewinds a well known tour operator rather than package it ourself we had two airlines to choose from that would get us to our final destination, Qatar Airways or Emirates.     Advantages Advantages Not having to fly from London Airports, nice food, entertainment choices

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Aircraft getting a bit old, longer journey times, shopping temptation in Dubai

    I have just booked my third, consecutive long haul ticket with Emirates Airline. After two trips to Bangkok, this time I'm off to Kuala Lumpur with hubby. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the other airlines. On the contrary, I have flown with many excellent airlines including BA, Cathay Pacific, Thai and KLM. However, the main plus point for me with Emirates is the fact that it flies from Birmingham, my local airport, which is only a fifteen minute drive away from home.     Emirates Airline Just in case anyone wants to inform me that this is in the wrong category I have asked ciao to move it to the airline rather than the FFP. Hopefully it will happen soon. Sorry. We flew to Dubai and back with Emirates and this is the first time in the last 8 years we have used this airline. The last time we flew we were going to Singapore in about 2003 I think. The airline has a very good service record and certainly when we flew to Singapore and back it was very pleasant.     Advantages Advantages Award winning Airline of 2001, efficient service, excellent in-flight entertainment with live on-board cameras showing front views, comfortable flight, plenty of Emirates stop-over offers

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really…hope it expands its fleet faster and adds the US sector sooner!

    In current times of economic recession and a slump in the airline industry when many US airlines declared bankruptcy it is a pleasure to fly with growing International carrier; like Emirates; the airline. Although some budget airlines may be showing normal levels of tourists flying many such airlines do not fly out of Europe and choices are more limited with long haul flights.     I recently flew on Emirates airlines to Dubai from Birmingham International, and then back again obviously, 12 days later! Emirates bill themselves as an award winning airline, having won 190 awards for excellence, including Airline of the Year in 2000. These awards certainly reflect the standard of service I experienced.     Disadvantages Disadvantages On certain routes, the stayover in Dubai might be quite long.

    I first flew Emirates through chance rather than out and out through design. Of course I knew about them, had heard all the rave reviews etc. but as they only are an option for long haul through Dubai from Vienna, I'd not had much opportunity to try them out. That changed when I wanted to have a week in Hong Kong - and Emirates were doing a EUR 520 return ticket from Vienna - which was considerably cheaper than the competition.     If i have travel international i have travelled maximum time by Emirates Airlines. Emirates is a part of The Emirates Group from Dubai & it is the Ninth largest airline in the world. but for me its the best Airlines i have travel with & i think it will be for most of the time. Well for me i have to travel with Emirates when ever i travel to India From UK as i get a staff ticket which is cheaper in price & that to Business Class which for me is far more cheaper compared to any airlines Economy Class.     I had a very mixed experience with Emirates recently. It was the first time I had flown with them and after reading the reviews on Ciao was prepared for a really nice flight. We flew Emirates from Birmingham to Dubai, and then onwards to Bangkok. Online check in is excellent and I would recommend this to anybody that has access to the internet, straight forward and no queues at the airport, unfortunately we were not able to use this service on the return journey as the aircraft was coming from Sydney - this is where the problems started and I shall go into further details later on in the ... more
