I had heard of Emirates and was told it was one of the best airlines, I booked flights for Male in the Maldives on line direct which was very easy quick and the staff were very helpful. I joined the skywards which is like airmiles and is for Emirates and air lanka they award you with upgrades and alot more. I flew emirates from manchester to perth via Dubai. the whole experience was wonderful.The crew were very obliging and couldn't do enough for you You were greeted just before take-off with hot towels which were very welcome after travelling.The crew were for ever coming round with cool drinks ,you received a snack on boarding and fruit or chocolate was readily available.The main meal was delicious with melon and then salad beforehand followed by dessert ... Advantages: good central hub,good config on there planes
Disadvantages: not many USA routes

Emirates airlines are certainly an airline that is going places,inmore ways than one. The big advantages of emirates are (1) there hub, Dubai is perfectaly placed as a world hub (though not as a USA stepping of place) This alows emirates to streamline there routes by using Dubai as changing stop. Advantages: NONE - worst airline I ever flew
Disadvantages: No assistance or seating for handicapped. Public Humiliation

My husband and I flew Emirates recently and it was horrible. My husband is handicapped nd required assistance to the aircraft. We also requested bulkhead seat for him (both BA and American Airlines reserve these seats for the handicap by law). Emirates computer system does not allow this. Emirates airline fleet is old and encounter many delays. I have flown Emirates airlines for the past 16 years and notice them deteriorating in service and fleet renewal year after year. I fly business class all the time and the food menu hasn't changed for the past 10 years. The entertainment in most planes is outdated with old technology and old (deteriorating quality) LCD screen. Emirates Airlines, start shaping up and stop sleeping on your glory.

Flew by Emirates from Nairobi to Dubai. Flight got delayed from airport by several hours - no communication received by airline staff, total chaos, and very unhelpful. Ended up going to Dubai 2 days later on the next available flight, which meant missing out on 2 days in Dubai, for which we had already paid. Disadvantages: Unprofessional behaviour and misleading info

Advantages: Great Airline - Highly Recommended
Disadvantages: Not enough toilets onboard!

I travelled with Emirates (Economy class) in April this year. I flew to Australia via Dubai so in all the flight was 22 hours. Emirates really look after you, meals are great, staff are really professional and friendly, seats are really comfy with loads of leg room (My other half is 6'4"! leg room is very important!). I travelled with Emirates earlier this year from Munich to Dubai and Dubain to Cochin in South India. I cannot understand the complaints from passenger named Lucie. I have never been treated so well on an airline - check in, seating, entertainment, service, food etc - and I am a very fussy person. I am recommending to all my friends and family to travel with Emirates whenever possible and will be returning to India again next year with the same airline. Sometime a person's own attitude affects the outcome of a trip. Be open-minded, be demanding where necessary and treat the service staff with great respect and it will come back at you 100% or more. of course that cannot cure a broken seat or old airplane!

Advantages: Onboard ICE, Very good service, Punctual
Disadvantages: Tad expensive

...hours. The first impression with Emirates was good one. I got 10kg's extra luggage allowance because I was a student. The flight from Dhaka to Dubai was packed but still it wasn't annoying. The friendly stewards welcomed with hot towels and soon with snacks and lunch. The brand new boeing 777ER was fantastic with very little noise. Emirates sucks!! My mom missed her Emirates connection at London due to Heathrow immigration issues. After 6 extra hours she took the next available flight to Dubai (from London Gatwick). However, due to the previous delay she had to wait 20plus hours for her next flight to India (which was also Emirates). Emirates refused to give her any lodging during the 20plus hour wait. She offered to pay for room and they kept on refusing. She is 60 years old and I think Emirates' service was very bad in this case. My previous impression about Emirates has changed. Avoid Heathrow and avoid Emirates. Both suck equally!!

Advantages: An Airline that provides excellent service and (for economy) comfort levels. Without question the best airline I have flown on
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

...was practical I would choose Emirates above any other airline. The two occassions I have flown with them the cabin crew have given the impression they positively care that you should enjoy your flight. In addition the food was excellent, there was enough space to be comfortable, water was brought to passengers regularly, extra food and drink was easily available and best of all everone has their own TV/radio/games console.
