...it! went to the Empire state building as we were staying very near it, even from a few blocks away it looked huge! Walking inside the building, you are greeted with lucious monochrome marble, and you climb the esculator to buy your tickets. If you are scared of hieghts its very very nerve racking. When visiting New York, the Empire State building is one of the first attractions in any tourists mind, which is just as well for the people who make money from their visiting, as the service they offer has really plummeted. My first visit to the building around 8 years ago was pleasant, up fairly quickly after a reasonable cue, look around, and then back down no hassle. Disadvantages: the queuing and if you are claustrophobic then the lift to the top.

...fact i went up the empire state building twice so i have two varying opinions to present. the first time was during the day, and of course it was very busy and so there is a lot of queuing at the start. this does not seem too bad because of the excellent entertainment provided by americans attempting to convince you to use their audio tours. in terms of value for money this trip is excellent by the way, only $13 when i went in March. there is also ...
