We were attending a wedding in June 2007 and the happy couple very kindly took the time and effort to organise a rate of £39.95 per night at the Holiday Inn Express, Luton Airport so guests who were coming from near and far could stay over for one or two nights without breaking their bank balances. BOOKING
It was clearly stated on the wedding invite that we were to give the groom’s surname in order to get the aforementioned rate instead of the advertised ... ...of a nightmare when calling up 6 weeks in advance to book a room at the discounted rate as the person who answered the phone seemed rather clueless. It took a good 20 minutes on the phone before they bothered to speak with the manager who confirmed that we could, in fact, book the rooms for that reduced rate. We were later told by the bride and groom that the majority of the guests booking in had had the same problem with the hotel staff unaware ...

Advantages: Close to airport Disadvantages: The staff and food

It's one of two hotels near the airport, the other one being the awful Ibis. So if you need a hotel due to an early or late flight this is probably your best bet. Location:
It's a quarter of a mile from Luton Airport and 1 mile from Luton Airport Parkway train station. There is a shuttle bus that goes from the station to the airport every 10 minutes or so and it goes ... ...A taxi to Luton Parkway if you do not want to use the free bus is around £4.
First Impressions:
It's a nice modern looking building, with 'Holiday Inn Express' clearly marked on it. You walk into an open plan room and it seems quite small with a low ceiling. Overall, the express by Holiday Inn at Luton airport is very good if you have a flight at Luton as you are so close, you can see planes all around the hotel but we were not disturbed at night by any noises. It's quite cheap, a double room for a night costing two of us nearly £25 which is not bad. I would definitely recommend it. ...
