A cheap week out

Advantages: Very Cheap
Disadvantages: Dusty Roads and Huge Insects!

...found out it was in Falaraki I was a bit spectacle. One because of all the bad press it had and two because going out clubbing wasn’t really my thing. When we arrived to be honest we weren’t very impressed. The roads were very dusty and a lot of the buildings were half built and there were mad men on scoters every where. On our journey to the ‘Hotel’ we did notice that some buildings had a lot of care taken over them and they were fully built. Later ...
...This is the place where Falaraki got most of its bad reputation from so when I first went here I was a bit unsure. However it was nothing like it is reported in the news papers, everyone is friendly and yes there is a lot of drink but it is up to you how much you drink. I can understand why some people do get into trouble but I felt very safe. As long as you stay with your friends (if you don’t go with a big group you will soon make lots of friends) ...

Full-of-crap-y?

Advantages: It's not too awful
Disadvantages: Like Torquay...without the class!

INTRODUCTION Faliraki is a resort on the Greek Island of Rhodes. Commonly referred to as "full-of-crap-y", it has had a lot of bad press recently; first, a fly-on-the-wall TV programme was filmed there, featuring British youngsters and their drunken, loutish behaviour, and more recently, there have been reports about the seedier side of the resort: drugs, robbery, rape. Unfortunately, none of this had reached the ears of my husband or me, by the ...
...Hmmm, we wondered why it was so impossibly cheap? LOCATION The flight to Rhodes took around four and a half hours, being one of the furthest Greek islands from Britain. The transfer to our accommodation by coach was relatively pain-free, only taking just over an hour, which was less than the 90 minutes advertised in the brochure. This might have been because it was the early hours of the morning when we arrived. Fortunately, we were staying in ...

Action Packed Pissup Padice... Falaraki In Rhodes

Advantages: loads to do
Disadvantages: too hot

...to party! I went to Falaraki in Rhodes for my first ever lads holiday and I really had a good time. Falaraki itself is not the best looking resort in the world, most of the buildings have no proper roofs (so the landlords dont have to pay roof tax) and the resort is spidered with loads of nasty looking roads and loads of traffic (watch out for the mad Greeks on their scooters). But take a short walk down to the beach and you get an amazing view of ...
.... At night however Falaraki is a really different story. The place really comes to life. All the resturants along the main street open up and you have to be careful or you will be dragged into one and forced to buy a really nice cheap meal for very little money (never order a curry though because its chicken with gravy on it!!). There are pubs and clubs galore all with a great atmosphere and most with 2-4-1 coctails or a free shot every time you ...

Falaraki - paradise for dreamers and hedonists

Advantages: meeting different people
Disadvantages: not too classy

Falaraki on Rhodos Island in Greece, is an ugly little coastal town, with an absolutely gorgeous long sand beach all along. It is apparent that this little place has the ambition to become Greek Ibiza, a meeting place for hedonists and young people. However, lets not forget that Ibiza is a meeting point for celebrities just as well, because hedonistic issue on Ibiza is lifted on a much higher level, ever since French Coast became overloaded with ...
...class flair in it. Therefor, Falaraki stands well for Greek Ibiza, only in Greece and can be compared only with Ios Island. Falaraki is actually the place for young people, single and free. No one in Falaraki starts relationship from serious intentions and hardly anyone ends it in stable marriage. Well almost anyone! ACCOMODATION & HOTELS & BEACHES Falaraki has few luxury hotels with decent accommodation. The hotels are settled mainly on a beach ...

You must be youthful or under

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Faliraki is a bay on the island of Rhodes. It's beautiful by day and night and offers anything a tourist can want. It's perfect if you're 18 and leaving college, about to embark on uni and in want of one or two last weeks away with your friends and away from your parents. There are a vast amount of water sports, (of which I chose to Parascend from the back of a boat) as well as a bungy jump (of which I did the second day of my holiday) and a reverse ...
...bay is fairly calm, it's hardly the west coast of France so there are no rapids but this just makes it more apealing to the eyes of younger children, so yes, there are a range of ages. The night life is by far the best asset Faliraki has to offer, and will be divine if you travel here in a large group. There are two streets which cross, nicknamed Bar street and Club street for obvious reasons! Bar street is the place to start, mind you, not just ...

Faliraki - it's so crappy!

Advantages: Nice beach?
Disadvantages: Fast main road at the top of town.

Faliraki - a resort in Rhodes, is one to avoid if you are of a mature age. Having been to Rhodes twice now, I can honestly say it is like the Blackpool of Rhodes. There are many bars and what can loosely be termed as restaurants. The average age must be 18/19 and gangs of girls and boys wander the streets in varying states of drunkenness and undress. Not a holiday for the family! If your son or daughter wish to visit say NO! However, if you are an ...

I CAN'T GET NO SLEEP!

Advantages: Great bars and atmosphere
Disadvantages: Busy and hot

This resort is for people who want to do some serious partying! I went with a friend in peak season and was hard pushed to see a family or couple in sight. The resort attracts groups of young lads and girls, and it is certainly a holiday for the unattached! There is a good selection of bars down the main street and although there is only a small number of clubs, it did not spoil a great holiday. The atmosphere was very friendly and you certainly ...
...beach is huge, but nonetheless very busy. The temperatures are scorching, and even at night it remained hot and sticky. The apartments tend to be very basic, but taking into account you will probably only wash and sleep there it shouldn't really matter. This certainly is not a resort you want to go to if you are seeking a relaxing holiday, in fact you should want a holiday to get over this one if you live it up to the max! ...

Is the media true?

Advantages: Beautiful place to visit
Disadvantages: Bad reputation

...discovered i was going to Falaraki with a small group of friend. Im easily pleased so i said you choose ill go with the flow, but FALARAKI???? Now, ive read about this place and seen documentries... Doesnt sound too good to me with all the lager louts, drugs, violence etc... I wasnt really looking forward to this one. To cut a long story short now.... We arrived on the island of Rhodes. This seemed a lovely place, really warm. A bit arrid and ...
...was plenty to do at Falaraki for all ages. i saw people and families of all ages having a great time. There are Boat trips to the Turkish bazars, tours, fairground rides and loads of other attrations and activities for everyone. I recomend Falaraki for anybody. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people with a bad reputation it doesnt deserve, wrongly portrayed by the media. ...

Living the dream, on the island of Rhodes! 18-30!!

Advantages: Drinking, dancing, and making friends with the toilet!
Disadvantages: Only enjoy it if under a "certain age!!"

Where do I start?!! Okay, me and my bestest m8 were in Yates (again!), getting a bit drunk (only a little bit mind!) when we found out about a promotion they'd been running to win a holiday! So about 25 shots of Corkys l8r and having been lucky enough to be entered into the competition ;p **no favouritism i promise** lol we had to do the limbo-us against 2 blokes! And anyway to cut a long story short-we won!! An 18-30's holiday to Faliraki for week-all ...
...2 weeks later, weve landed in Rhodes airport-and its nice and hot-even at 12 midnight! Get on our special pink and blue coach (LOL) and off we go! The first thing we found when arrived at our hotel thing was the 24 hour bar-so before weve even unpacked, we're there discovering the many delights Greece has to offer-including Sex on the beach fishbowls! Okay, so 18-30's excursions aren't paid for-but it's about £120 for week's stuff, this included ...

Don't believe all you see on TV!

Advantages: Lots to do, or just relax and take it easy
Disadvantages: Very hot in high season

Faliraki has had lots of bad publicity over the past couple of years, "take the Club Reps" documentary for instance, which was set in Faliraki. I was totally shocked when I watched it, as my husband and I had spent our holiday there and had seen nothing of what was portrayed on our TV! From the moment we arrived we loved it, the weather was wonderful, there was a gorgeous beach with beautiful clear blue sea close to our apartments and the locals ...
...ever and stayed at the Sun Maris Apartments. We heard little noise in our apartments, only the church bells from across the road in the afternoon! Our room was gorgeous, so clean and fresh looking. The owner, a lady named Mary became our friend, and we still exchange letters. The atmosphere where we stayed was fantastic, there were people of ALL ages staying, all the guests got along and knew each others names. We even had a few nights out together ...

Come here for all kinds of Fun.

Advantages: lots of bars, great nightlife
Disadvantages: pebbly beach

...of Ibiza or Magaluf then Falaraki is the very best option. There are not many clubs here but the ones that are tend not to dissappoint. Bars are the main attraction with plenty offering cheap beer and FREE shots although we all know the story that they are pretty weak but WHO CARES? Lots of brilliant watersports on the beach but the reps do tend to get a bit annoying when you walk down the beach. Ahh the beach, well not really sandy more pebbly, ...

Beautiful and untouched

Advantages: Relaxing and unspoilt
Disadvantages:

...I have stayed in Falaraki and also Rhodes town. I think Falaraki is very popular for its entertainment and night life but still its not over the top. Rhodes town is just pure history and highly recommended. The only disadvantage would be anyone in a wheel chair as roads are rough and can be uncomfortable for the disabled. Day trip cruise is highly recommended to Lindos. What a delight!! ...

Faliraki!! 2005

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: NONE

Hello Everyone I was in Faliraki this year for 2 fantastic weeks. What a place. When i went to the Travel Agent to book a holiday they said Faliraki would be really good for young ones! So me and my best friend booked. Once we had paid our deposit and told everyone where we were going (All Excited) we heard all the stories about girls getting raped and fighting. So we were very weary about our holiday. Once we arrived at our Apartment it was straight ...
...a cocktail, what can i say its just a dream. Our first night out was brilliant and we had 13 other great nights after that. Everyone was so friendly and mixed straight away, we made lots of new friends who we meet up with every night and had a wild one. The night clubs were wicked, they stayed open until the last one left. Some day i would be walking home with my party clothes on and people were starting there new day. The best bar - Georges he is ...

One big sun drenched none-stop party!!

Advantages: gorgeous weatherand beach, fun packed lively night life!
Disadvantages: Not really suited to familys or the elderly.

Falaraki is definately the place be this year. Its crammed with late night bars, and clubs that stay open till the early hours of the morning. Two for one offers on drinks make it a cheap holiday if your willing to start your night off that little bit earlier in order to get pissed for half the price. Aswell as the night life theres loads more to do, including; Bungi jumping, bungi cage, sky surfer, go-karting, banana boats, ringos and a water park ...
...is slap bang in between Lindos and Rhodes town. where as Lindos seem to be the place to just chill-out and relax, Rhodes town is the place to do a bit of site seeing and see the more traditional side of Greece. Rhodes town is a great night out if you just fancy a walk around the town and a great meal. Both of theses places including the water park are easily reachable on a scooter which cost me around £60 for the full week. ...

second visit to faliraki

Advantages: good beach and bars
Disadvantages: not any really

Had been to faliraki 8 yrs ago when i was young and it was great, bars and nightlife are fantastic you will not be dissappointed if you are young and looking for a good time. my second visit was may 2006 stayed about 20 min walk away from faliraki centre with husband and kids, we still went into faliraki a couple of times and as it was start of the season was very quiet, but to me it is still a lovely place still has the nice bars and restaurants. ...
