...have to write and recommend Flight Centre. They are an international airfare consolidator with many branches worldwide and they claim on their adverts to offer "to beat any genuine scheduled airfare". It was precisely for this reason that I looked into them 5 years ago - and since then they have been my first choice airfare agent.
Firstly the staff are invariably friendly. They take your needs into account - I usually do a complex journey but that's ... ...- there's no middleman. They can usually offer any destination at a really good fare. If you have received a cheaper quote they do, honestly, beat it - usually there and then - provided you book and pay that day. If your quote is very much lower than theirs they do hold your seats for you whilst they verify your claim - but they still beat it even if it means losing money for them (it happened to me once - or at least they claimed that!)
