Gee`s Restaurant, Oxford

Wow! Is how I have to start this review of a great dining experience. Gee's lives up to its promise. We decided to go there as a special treat. Gee's is hard to miss from the outside. It is a converted florist's conservatory dating from 1898. Not large or showily perched in the Banbury Road but striking enough to have attracted our attention many times as we headed for the pubs in North Parade. ...at least four times a week. And we were baby sitting some lovely cats who live in a very nice house so no need to get back to Surrey. Out to enjoy ourselves with vengeance! Review of Gee`s Restaurant, Oxford

We went there for dinner last night (9 Feb 08). The building was really nice, the service excellent, and the food quite nice, but a bit over priced. The cheapest wine was £18.55. What really annoyed us though was how rushed we felt - we sat down at 6.45 - we had been told before hand that they needed the table at 9, which was fine. But the starter came out almost as soon as we had ordered, and the main course came out straight after the starter plates had been taken away. We had finished our main course by 7.15 - 30 mins after sitting down, even thought they didnt need the table till 9. Apart from that it was a nice meal. ...
