General: Bulgaria

We have been to Golden Sands twice in the last 2 years, Sunny Beach this year and going again to Sunny Beach in Sept. We loved it both in G.Sands and S. Beach but S.Beach more to do, much bigger. Hotel we stayed in in Sunny Beach was 4 star Riu Helena Park and it was out of this world, spotless, staff friendly, couldn't fault it. Only 1 downfall, it was situated at the far end of the resort, approx 30 mins walk to the main result, but small price ...
...gorgeous. Best place to eat was Restaraunt National in the centre of Sunny Beach, run by a guy called Nicky who we had met previously in Golden Sands. His food is spot on and he gets real steak in not veal! Perfect host, great entertainement, perfect position. Can't fault it. ...

I have recently been snowboarding in bulgaria, and although it was my first time, i thought it was brilliant. The slopes which i visited were extremely good, with a variety of difficulty levels and "styles" of track. The facilities such as lifts and cafes on the slopes were also very good. Throughout my visit, the weather was constantly sunny, but extremely cold. The hotel i stayed at (Pamporovo) was amazing, and had pleanty of entertainment etc. ...

Great....cheap beer ...cheap eating out...cheap clothes...cheap copies of everything expecially jeans and CD's Don't expect to eat beef steaks...there are't any..it's veal....No point in hiring a car...not safe out and about in the country...must see places on tours,,,in the mountains...crafts...history...folklore.woollen carpets...Sunny beach it'self felt very safe..lots of families around...we wern't hassled by any-one for anything and were quite ...
...eye-opener....must visit Nessebar....brilliant trip on boats that go from Sunny Beach piers....most of all have a good time and go soon before the rest of the world get there........there is a big complex at Pomorie being built....not far from the airport which has a golf facility...due to be finished in 2005...............and apartments for sale so this will bring a lot of people to the area....HAVE FUN.............ENJOY.................... ...

I have now been to Golden Sands 5 times and feel it gets unfair bad press. It is very safe especially for children, I took my 4 year old grandaughter the beach was perfect. At night there is plenty of good restaurants and bad like everywhere else you have to explore or ask other holidaymakers. Yes there are prostitutes but they do no harm as most of them are medical students trying to earn tuition fees for the winter you have to remember this is ...
...12 different people here and everyone would return without hesitation. Hotels are worth a bit of research as there are a few undesireable ones the website gives you plenty advice just dont go for the very cheap hotels you should be able to tell with the descriptions in the brochure. I would fully recommend the Hotel Shipka very clean and friendly lovely indoor and outdoor pool, rooms very clean. ...
