When finalising destinations for our round the world trip, there was no discussion or debate necessary for Hawai'i. Both my husband and I knew we wanted to stay in this tropical and much revered country; we had heard only positive comments about it over the years. These rave reviews and promises of white beaches with clear seas, the exceptionally high levels of hospitality and nature at its best led us to choose Hawaii as our 'honeymoon' destination ...

After a week of running around North America on Honeymoon, I spent my second week on the Hawaiian island of Oah'u. ...over 16 hours of flying. You normally have to stop on the West coast of USA to refuelor change planes which normally means is takes up a day of your holiday flying there and another flying back. If your simply looking for a break and a place to get away Hawaii is the place for you ache's of beach land and not that many people overcrowding the tourist sections. I went to Hawaii and stayed in Waikiki which is the tourist area of the main island.Its about a 20 minutes transfer from Honolulu airport to Waikiki and cost about USD25 for a private transfer in a towncar(A posh taxi).Travel is easy around the island by bus.All journeys cost 1 dollar.Make sure you have a 1 dollar note as they dont give change.Bus guides can be bought in the Seven to eleven corner shops for 5 dollars.The number 13 (CHECK BEFORE HAND) ...

Hawaii is an expensive paradise. It was really good that I made it here, when I think of Hawaii, I think of Elvis for some strange reason and I haven't an idea why. Driving around the island doesn't take you very long and the sights are just absolutely breath taking. The food is great, I went for the fruit salad for breakfast and they really know how to serve, you get a plate of food instead of a dish! The beaches are often full though, the water ...
...so parental supervision all the time with children. (Meaning that instead of a normal beach where you would have to walk to get knee deep, these beaches.. one step and the water is up to your waist). Hawaii, a tropical paradise. At least that's how it is portrayed. It is a great place to stop if you happen to be crossing the very vast Pacific Ocean. It is just about half way which means you can strech you legs and not be totally destroyed by the jet-lag you would have faced if you went in one go.
