New Zealand is such an amazing country I have truly fallen in love with it! After 6 weeks of traveling the North and the South Island I fill very happy that I covered most of what this country has to offer. Similar companies include Stray and the Kiwi Experience. How Much ...

Kia-ora. Welcome to my place......
Fished up by Maui, a Maori God, in never-never-land tales, New Zealand is a true paradise, in the South Pacific. The myth tells that he stepped all over bush-clad land; leaving crystal-clear lakes in his footsteps, glistening in cool-green native bush, amid massive, rugged mountains, some so virginal they stand today, unconquered by man.
In the millions of years that this beautiful country has evolved it has seen ... ...200 years ago - so it is a new country in civilised history. It's thought that the Maori arrived in their wakas (canoes) around 1000 years ago, from an area you won't find on any map but it is loosely called Hawaiki. Maori legend tells of Kupe, the first warrior, finding The Land of the Long White Cloud - Aotearoa (Maori) or New Zealand, and the tribes following to settle in the land they have occupied ever since.
Troubles came when the Europeans ...

New Zealand is the youngest country on earth, it was the last major landmass to be discovered. Its history has both Maori and European heritage. There are still amazing Maori historic sites to be found some dating back almost a thousand years.

Journey to New Zealand
On the 8th of May 2004 I and 4 friends flew to New Zealand for the final week of our holiday. We had already visited Thailand for 4 days and had experienced very mixed weather in wonderful Australia for 3 weeks…what would New Zealand hold in store for us…

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, friendly people, fantastic! Disadvantages: Long way away from anywhere, weather (sometimes!!)
My first impressions of New Zealand were what a beautiful country it is! With a population of around 4 million in total, it is very untouched and natural, and even though Europeans moved in they still keep a lot of the Maori names and I got the feeling they respect their predecessors, a lot more so than Australia with the Aboriginal people. It is actually located across 2 of the earth's tectonic plates so earthquakes are frequent (although severe ... ...off visiting!) and you can see how the ice age, glaciers and volcanoes have shaped the environment with the abundant mountains, lakes and glaciers. Well, where do I start? I guess I should start by introducing it. My family and I decided that a holiday was called for, so we got out the atlas, and looked for a place that would suit the best of all worlds- english speaking, warm climate, family friendly. New Zealand is situated in the pacific ocean, to the south-east of Austrailia. It is a country of two islands- North Island and South Island. It is now known for its connections of Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth, with its breathtaking scenery and Maori (their native people) culture.

NZ is an absolutely stunning destination that I cannot speak about highly enough, clean airs clear skies, backdrops of mountains, empty coastlines, amazing views... it is the perfect outdoor destination. Thinking of travelling around New Zealand? I spent 5 months touring around so hope I can offer some tips:-
Travelling alone? Well if you want to meet people the best way to travel is to use one of the two popular coach tours around the island(s). Choose from either 'The kiwi experience' or 'kontiki' coach tours. Both are very similar but their routes and trip length vary.
Advantages of this: No need to plan things as the routes and accommodation ... ...effective.
Disadvantages: Don't get to choose your own route and therefore may not get to see everything you want to.
Travelling as a couple? Then in my opinion the best way is to hire a car. You'll almost certainly fly into Auckland where most of the hire car companies are based. I hired one for a month for around $NZ27 per day thats around £9 and was peak season so if you were planning to travel in the winter I expect you could find an even better ...

1. Introduction
My interest in New Zealand started, when I saw a film about the country´s important wine branch a few years ago. I was fascinated by New Zealand´s natural beauty and its broad landscapes. Although the film was basically about wine and there were consequently only a couple of scenes showing New Zealand´s beauty, the whole countryside amazed me. Therefore I decided to do my „Facharbeit" on New Zealand.

There were elder people travelling on the bus when I was aboard and I think they felt a little out of place with all the young ones!

Advantages: breathtaking variety of scenery, friendly people and a wonderful feeling of space Disadvantages: distance and long flight times, need at least a month
New Zealand is well known by Kiwis as Godzone - or God's Own little country, and I can well imagine this to be true. Often overshadowed by neighbouring Australia, there is little doubt that New Zealand possesses quite simply the most breathtaking variety of scenery and some of the most genuinely friendly people you are likely to meet on holiday. In fact, I think of it as how Britain ought to be, but never will be. The country is not too dissimilar ... ...leaving plenty of open unspoilt places, and a general feeling of space that England lacks. It is separated into two halves, referred to as North and South Islands. Basically, North Island contains most of the large cities, including Wellington and Auckland. In contrast South Island contains the better scenery of the two, with snow capped mountains, forests, cliffs, beaches and volcanic pools. There is also a lovely English city of Christchurch. Of ...

NZ the Move
You may have read a report in this section about my trip to New Zealand in March this year, I recall giving it a glowing reference, my opinion and memories of the place are still strong and positive, due to the experience I had, myself and family have chosen to take another trip, but this time for a year.

The thought occurred “why not take some time off work and visit New Zealand for a year” this was very appealing to me as the three weeks spent in Auckland were not enough to explore even a tiny fraction of the countries fantastic scenery. We were both agreed and set about researching the possibility.
The first thing I needed to arrange was my employment, luckily for me my profession ...
