"A Great Country, just Pretending to be Small!"

Advantages: Friendly, Welcoming People
Disadvantages: Bleak Past

“A Great Country, just pretending to be Small!” I’m afraid I’m not sure who said that, but it sums up my opinion of Northern Ireland perfectly. Let me explain… I’m Northern Irish. If I’m ever asked what my nationality is, I always say Northern Irish. According to the national census I’m in the minority. Tradition here in our country is to define yourself as either British or Irish according to your religious beliefs. Personally I’m very proud of ...
...Irish. We have enough history to rightfully establish ourselves as a separate entity to either England or Ireland. And if anyone’s going to write a review on Northern Ireland, I reckon I might just be biased enough to make it sound like the most phenomenal place on earth! So, lets go with the hard sale… Let us begin with a short journey back in time. Ireland was ruled by the Celtic Earls, and each earl owned a County. With there being nine counties ...

Is it all it's craic-d up to be

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, lots to do
Disadvantages: you won't want to go home

Northern Ireland is ever present in the news today due to political strife and religious bigotry. But there’s another side to it. A very beautiful, tranquil, breathtaking side to it. I’ve lived here all my life and I never get tired of exploring the countryside and visiting places of interest. What I’d like to do is give you an idea of the real Northern Ireland, the NI that I live with every day and that hardly anyone gets to see. ...
...you can expect if you were to come visit us for a holiday! Be brave, we don’t shoot everyone! Northern Ireland is 85 miles long and 70 miles wide. You could drive around it in one day no problem. But you really don’t want to do that. Packed into our little corner is enough activities, places to visit and breathtaking scenery to keep you here for years. The Giant’s Causeway is a natural wonder. The Causeway proper is a mass of basalt ...

Don't believe the horror stories

Advantages: Friendly people, beautiful scenery, great nightlife
Disadvantages: pubs outside the cities close at 11. the weather obviously!!

Its been a long arduous journey for Northern Ireland to find peace but for this past few years there has been a new optimism in the country whihc has led more people to visit and even made Irish people themselves realise that it's a holiday destination that has been long overlooked. There is no way in one short review that I can tell you all the good things about Northern Ireland so instead I'll just give you a taste of what we have to offer. Belfast: ...
...there has been alot of change and investment recently. you still have the old stly pubs where old men in flat caps sit and talk about racing over their pints but Belfast has started coming into the 21st century when it comes to nightlife. The biggest development in the past few years has been the advent of the bambu beach club in the odyssey complex just outside the city centre. Its a theme club trying very hard to be a beach party and succeeding. ...

Beautiful Country

Advantages: Beautiful Scenery, Quality Accommodation, Cheap Flights if you're quick, The Ulster Fry.
Disadvantages: The weather, Difficult to obtain accommodation during the week in City Centre locations, Ulster Fry will put pounds on you.

Northern Ireland is fast becoming a European Country of note. Long gone are the serious pitched battles between religious factions, although it does tend to exist to a certain extent in the Nationalist and Loyalist areas, but they are well away from the beauties Northern Ireland and Belfast has to offer. The feature of Belfast on a dark and calm night are the bridges which stretch from the Lagan Lookout to Cutters Wharf along the river Lagan. For ...
...but nowadays I consider the view along the Ormeau Embankment as one to cherish a place onto a postcard for posterity. Accommodation is a plenty. Several quality hotels adorn the skyline. The most well known local hotel if the Europa Hotel which is run by the Hastings family. A superb feature which would attract any outsider off the street to go in and have a look around. The Hilton and Posthouse Groups are probably amongst the more world-wide names ...
