Just a word of warning that I am biased about this country because I originate from there. However, there is no doubt that it really is the most gorgeous place to visit.
I'm really only able to talk about the main island, Mahe, because that’s the only island I've been to. Mahe is the only Seychelles island with an airport but there are many boat rides available to get to the others such as Praslin and La Digue. The main town on Mahe is called ... ...supermarket, craft shops and food places. All the utility headquarters are here including embassies. Victoria is really the only place in Mahe to buy stuff as the local shops are like your everyday newsagents. Unfortunately products are rather expensive because at the moment there are severe shortages in the country. You can find your typical souvenir shops in Victoria except that many of the products look a lot nicer that the usual tat you find ...

Advantages: weather, scenery, relaxing pace Disadvantages: not really for teenagers, very pricey
I visited the Seychelles with my family a couple of years ago. It is the closest I have ever come to my idea of 'real paradise' and I recommend it to anyone that wants to experience gorgeous beaches, turcquiose water and breathtaking scenery. Being a teenager in Seychelles has its disadvantages. There is little to no nightlife and activities on the islands are minimal. We stayed on the largest island, Mahe, and activity was generally confined to ... ...way to spend a holiday, but it can get tedious after a couple of weeks. We booked a tour around the whole island with a private driver and it was fascinating. He took us to see the most stunning sights - curved rocks stretching out to a deep blue sea. We also took a trip to the capital and experienced a shopping trip to a spice market and several main shopping streets. But the activity, even here, was very limited. It had the permanent atmosphere ...

Advantages: Romantic, beautiful and unbusy Disadvantages: Pricey
If you're looking for a great honeymoon destination - I couldn't recommend the Seychelles more. The best islands are pobably La Digue, Praslin and (if you can afford it) Fregate. Mahe - where the international airport is - is OK. The interior jungles are interesting and Anse Intendance on the south is a great beach (watch out for waves). Praslin is smaller and very pretty - the Vallee de Mai is stunning. La Digue is a good size and nice to cycle ...

Advantages: white sands, beautiful scenery, peaceful. Disadvantages: expensive, not the med, boring
Writing from a different perspective, I went to the Seychelles as an older teenager for 1 month. I found the scenery and the beaches beautiful, and there are all the usual tourist activities, e.g - banana boat, paragliding. But after a few weeks if you can only afford to stay on Mahe (the main island) it can become a little boring. Although I had two friends with me and many of my relatives live there, this island is mainly suited to either couples, ... ...choice of goods, services and entertainment, but if what your looking for is somewhere to get away from western culture then this is the place to go. If you have the financial resources to travel to outlaying islands this makes the holiday much more interesting, because although you are going even further away from the 'civilised' world, you start to appreciate more what is here. The boat, or plane journeys to where you are going are in itself a ...

I visited the seychelles with my husband and family. The holiday had been built up beyond belief as his family had been there twice before about 15 years ago, and had gained a somewhat legondary status! We stayed on the main island Mahe, but also visited Praslin and La Digue. Mahe had changed a lot, and the hotel that we stayed in (The Berjaya Mahé Beach Resort) was not the best choice on relection, however it has arguably the best location, with ... ...experience as rough a tide as other parts of the island. I still wouldnt recommend staying here, the standards are not as high as other hotels. la Digue island lodge was the most amazing place I have ever been too and I would highly recommend that! The location is amazing, the view incredible and the beach huts that we stayed in were gorgeous. One thing that was very odd was the currency, we weren't able to take any currency with us, and on arrival ...
