Advantages: Perfect for a unique cultural immersion and a wild food-attack. Excellent transport system means getting to anywhere is a breeze.
Disadvantages: Hot (at least 30C everyday). Also, there is no natural scenery to speak of.

Once again it turns out that it is great having friends around the world. The trip to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur was triggered by an invitation to a wedding in Kuala Lumpur (called KL from now on). We didn’t get that much time to plan the trip because we got the invitation on pretty short notice. Disadvantages: Humid and touristy. Watch out for rip-off merchants!

More than just shopping and satay, Singapore is a rich and lively town with much to offer even the in-transit traveller. Ahh, my main loves in live, alca-mar-ol, fodder….then SHOPPING and Singapore is my most favourite place to shop in the world (but Manila is hot on it's tail!). The two main shopping strips in Singapore are Scotts Road; these are pretty much our equivalent of say Oxford Street & Bond Street. We had the pleasure of taking our annual holiday last year to Singapore. We stayed at the Shangri-La hotel, which is a really lovely hotel, and I will surely write an op on this shortly. Disadvantages: frequent heavy stormshowers, gotta be careful where you smoke!

I went with my family to Singapore a couple of years ago where we stayed in our friends' apartment for two weeks while they visited the Cotswolds in England where we had travelled from. Singapore is everything you would expect it to be, lively, bustling, interesting, entertaining, expensive (but packed full of bargains depending upon what you are looking for) and great FUN! Advantages: There's so much to do, It's very beautiful, It's very safe
Disadvantages: You might not have enough time there!

Singapore is one of the most beautiful cities i have ever been to. It's clean, full of tropical trees, nice shops, and there's no litter on the pavements. It's one of the safest cities in the world and is easy to get around. There's loads of shops, and whilst hardware electronics them sleves are of course cheaper than in the highstreets, they aren't that much cheaper than you can get if you sop around off of the highstreet in England. I know Singapore very well since I was born in the Southern Malaysian town of Johore Bahru,which is just a hop across the causeway which separates Malaysia and the Island Republic. For our honeymoon we had a stopover of 4 days in Singapore. I had always wanted to go there. It even amazed me more when I set my eyes on this beautiful city. It’s one of the most modern and developed cities in the world. It’s mixture of occidental and oriental touch makes it an awesome place. It’s incredibly clean and organized. Disadvantages: Make sure you know where you're going before wandering off

Leaving Singapore airport, as the doors open the heat from the outside hits you, you almost feel winded by it. There are two very different sides to Singapore, there is the city centre which is very clean, and if you litter or drop your cigarette butt, you will be fined $50.
