The commentary went on about the industries of Catalonia, those being paper, cork, textiles and metal in the form of cars in some areas. We saw cork trees stripped of their bark with the brown colour underneath which denoted that the bark had been removed less than a month ago, they go silver after that. Cork trees are the only trees that can survive without their bark; it grows back and since the trees grow prolifically around the Spanish hills, ...

Its that time of year when the hot weather is near , the football season has come to an end :O( , the nation is going exam crazy & Tim Henman will yet again let his fans down at Wimbledon , - The latter for me signals summer is close & so a vacation to sunny Spain is not far away.
Many of you may be planning to visit Spain this summer , whether it be mainland or the surrounding islands or at least thought about visiting Spain for the first time ...

Advantages: an unforgettable experience Disadvantages: no disadvantages
When a country is just round the corner, it is a lot harder to be objective in your comments and not to be guided by popular prejudices or preferences.
But I have lived a lot in company of Spanish people, and I have visited their country every time I could, so I will try to be as true as I can.
Spaniards are exotic, generous and cheerful. Men are usually very handsome. Life is lived in a careless way full of fun. An average Spanish person spends ...

Advantages: The food, people and hot weather. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
After having just returned from a 2-week holiday in Spain, I thought I'd take the opportunity of writing an opinion on the Country while it's still fresh in my mind. (I arrived back today!).
The flight there and back is a different op altogether, so I'll concentrate on the holiday in question.
On arriving at Malaga Airport (another op, maybe??!!), my mother and stepfather drove me to their home about a 20 minute drive from the airport. As I ...

Advantages: A great experience Disadvantages: Sometimes not for the faint hearted
I have quite a few contacts in Spain, and I visit the country nearly every summer. Along with the great weather, food, and cheap living the country also offers something unique to Europe. Bullfighting does also occur in France but there they don't kill the bull, they simply try to get as close to the bull as possible and so show their bravery. That is more of a difference than what happens to the bull. You need to understand the bullfight to tell ...

Advantages: Sunny, friendly people and good food. Disadvantages: Can be expensive and when it rains, it certainly rains!
Spain conjures up in my mind, lots of high rise concrete buildings, thousands of holiday makers and definitely not the sort of place we usually go for holidays. But as we hadn’t been and this opinion was gleaned from holiday brochures, then we decided to try it for ourselves.
First dip into Spain, we flew to Portugal (cowards!) and were taken by coach to just over the border to Cost de la Luz. It was the first time Thomson’s had used this quite ...

Advantages: Beaches, good climate (in general), night life, cultural places... Disadvantages: Not to come..
Spain is the second biggest touristic destination in the world, just in the last year we received 40 million people (the same amount that the Spanish population), most of them came in summer attracted by the good beaches and climate, but there’s much more in Spain that I will write about.
I will try to do a virtual walk around all the states (called autonomic communities), with a special importance for those which are the most touristic.
Spain ...

El ano pasado......sorry, last year and the year before I visited Spain (Barcelona) for a week each time.
It was an organised trip by the school and they were some of the best weeks I have spent in Spain. We visited a few historic places which didnt really grab my interest, but one place wevisited highlighted the whole trip.
this was Port Aventura, Spain's answer to Disney. With Dragon Khan, the only roller coaster in the world with 8 loops, ...

Advantages: It is very hot Disadvantages: it is a home away from home!
I went to the Algarve which was lovely but my most recent trip to Spain was to La Manga. This is a beautiful holiday resort and the heat is very intense. Most of the population is english so it is more like a home away from home. I would generally say that it is for younger people as most of the people there were around age 16-18. The resort is fully equipped with Tennis Courts which many famous people go to, Swimming pools, Shops, Resteraunts, Beach ...

Advantages: the wonderful peole Disadvantages: nothing
Spain is one of the wonderful countries in the world. You can go to many places and can enjoy about the style of life that the Spanish people have.
Spain has much to offer for everybody. In the south (for example) you can visit beautiful cities like Granada, Seville (there you can see a wonderful cathedral) or in the middle of the state Madrid or Valencia. In the capital of Spain you can visit historical things like “la Plaza Mayor” or “La Puerta ...

Advantages: Weather, food, cheap cost of living Disadvantages: None
I visited La Manga in Southern Mainland Spain last year. It was my first time abroad and I can't wait to go again.
I visited in August and the weather was amazing, the best holiday I have ever had. The accommodation was spotless, the people although most could only speak very little English, were really helpful and friendly. The food was excellent at every eating place we tried and the bars were really accomodating.
We visited two markets both ...

Just out of pure interest (Yet again, I have a lot of queries) has anyone ever wondered about the issue of safety in Spain? I have only visited the tourist, holiday destinations but the safety in those is so poor that I’m sure there must be about like three million, four thousand, six hundred and fifty four people killed in accidents per holiday resort, every summer. OK, not that anyone cares but I have just always noticed things like the 20 metre ...

Advantages: cheap, hot, no stress, friendly, healthy Disadvantages: Gypsies in some areas, flies
Want to move, take the plunge, Spain, a beautiful country. The people are very friendly and helpful, the prices are much cheaper than uk. The air is a lot healthier, there is no stress, no rushing about and inland no congestion. I recomend Granada and surrounding areas, particularly Iznalloz. An hour to beaches, 1 hour to the top of Sierra Nevada and snow. Things to watch out for, Gypsies, The Spanish hate gypsies, some are fine, a lot will nick whatever ...
