The British Vrigin Islands is a great place ofr novice and experienced sailers alike. The consistency of the weath and winds makes sailing very easy and most of the navigation is by site, except to get to Anegada (a very rewaarding experience). There is an easy route around the South of Tortola, up to Virgin Gorda with plenty of stop off points for some really good snorkelling. Advantages: Great sailing - ideal for beginners, fun beach bars Disadvantages: Very popular, can be busy
The BVIs are in the northeast Caribbean, and offer protected sailing perfect for newcomers to chartering yachts. There are a lot of moorings, marinas and beach bars. We had our first yachting holiday here, chartering from Sunsail in Tortola. Now we're a little more experienced, we'd like to go back!
