I went to Barcelona two summers ago. It's quite a few years I wished to spend there a few days and then I got the chance and I went there for a week. It was the first week of August, so there were a lot of tourists and people everywhere, however it was not so difficult to move from a place to another and to enter the places... Yes,Barcelona is impressive, and architecturally uplifting, but you tend to miss a lot unless you walk. This is definately the way to get around the old town, in the area of the Ramblas, and near the Plaza Catalunya s Avoid the rainy seasons, February, March, October. I was taken to Barcelona for a surprise trip last October. And what a surprise- it was an amazing city with so much to offer! We stayed in the University area of the city, about a ten minute trip into the city centre using the underground. We found there was so much to see and do it was hard to fit it in to the few days we were there.
