    Advantages Advantages See LISBON on the Cheap, discounts at many sites.

    When we arrived at Lisbon Airport we had done our research on Transfer to the City. The best option as it turned out was the AEROBUS AEROSHUTTLE Bus. The Stop is just outside the Arrivals Door, just across the taxi ranks you will see several Bus Stops, you want the AEROBUS one. You buy your ticket on board from the Driver, change is given , the price is 3 Euros 50 Cents, correct money helps and is appriciated.     Disadvantages Disadvantages the taxi ride back to the airport!

    We visited Lisbon in June 2006. The metro is really easy to negotiate, just four lines (red, yellow, blue and green). We bought "day tickets" from the booth at our local station (as recommended by the hotel receptionist) for around 3 Eur for one days unlimited travel. The ticket was rechargable, so the next day we took the same ticket back and paid for our travel for the rest of our stay. We didn't realise however, until our last day, that these tickets were also valid on buses and trams! The metro stations were all very clean and modern.     Advantages Advantages Easy to use underground: Helpful friendly people

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Hire a car in advance otherwise it is expensive

    I visited Lisbon with my boyfriend in June 2005 and we loved it. We used pretty much every transport option available and found it very easy to explore the city. The underground system was bright and easy to navigate with air conditioning, good signage and modern stations and trains. Some stations had flat screen TVs showing music videos. We hired a car with Budget cars and this was no bother at all. We bought a cheap map and followed major roads to the 'green spots' beside the beach, south of the harbour and it was such a beautful sight.
