    Advantages Advantages Great bargains if you want to buy gold otherwise just oggle at all the glitz

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Could make you very envious or cause tiff with partner if you want to buy and he doesn't!

    The Gold Souk – Dubai The Gold Souk is in the Deira part of Dubai and is easy walking distance from the spice souk and the Dubai Creek crossing. This makes it a great place to wander around as there is so much to see. We were not in the market for gold buying and despite quite likeing jewellery I am not really into spending a lot of money on this sort of thing when on holiday and my husband is even less interested.     Advantages Advantages Selection is great, prices- the cheapest or one of the cheapest in the World.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many small shops and traipsing through all of them can be tiresome.

    Location and Travel :- The Gold Souk is in the Deira part of Dubai. If you happen to be staying in Bur Dubai you can take either a bus or a taxi to the Gold Souk. As it is so famous you need not tell the driver the location, he will take you there. From Bur Dubai the easiest way to go is through the Al Shindaga tunnel as you will have to cross the Creek. If you are staying in Deira, it might be either walkable or a short cab drive away.     Advantages Advantages lots of gold, reasonably cheap prices, shopping heaven

    Disadvantages Disadvantages tired feet as there are SO MANY SHOPS!

    When I went to Dubai I was very fortunate to have stayed in a hotel that was just a 5 minute walk for the Gold Souk. With the intention of maybe buying one piece of gold jewellery I actually ended up buying a whole lot more! GOLD SOUK EXPERIENCE The thing about the Gold Souk is that there are lines and lines of gold shops, the gold in the showcases resembles a candy shop window, from bangles to necklaces the choice is endless.
