Advantages: A must see in San Francisco Disadvantages: cold ...brrr
...visit to the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. A recent trip there confirms my believe that it is one of the most magnificent structure ever built. This is a synopsis of my recent visit.
The bridge was completed in 1937 and from near its a bright red-orange. Its about 1.7 miles long. The bridge is supported by two large towers and tons of cables. Standing at the foot of the bridge, and looking up, you could feel the enormity of the entire structure.
... ...the Visitor's centre car park and go onto the bridge. Dress warmly as it can get really chilly.
Forgetting the pollution emitted from the vehicles travelling on the bridge, the view of the hills, the ocean and the ships streaming in and out of the river brings a sense of peacefulness into one's consciousness.
A walk on the bridge takes about an hour. It is a nice walk. There are walking pavements on both sides of the road. People like to jog, walk ...

Advantages: Exciting, vertiginous, epic Disadvantages: Windy, mucho traffic, vertiginous
What can i say that hasn't already been said of this. Its a lovely lovely bridge. That said, i actually do prefer the Bay bridge - but the two are a little chalk and cheese. Its huge, imposing, windy, filled with very fast moving traffic (going faster than you thought!) lots of tourists, cyclists and at a terrific height above the land and ocean channel. Finding out the facts about the bridge brings home to you what a monumental effort it was to ... ...If you manage to cross the bridge then there's some beaches and woods not far from the far side. Easier by cycle or car. If you have a car take this out to get to the Muir Woods - a beautiful park full of very tall, very wide Sequoia trees.. ...

...be complete without seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. You've seen it on countless films and it is always featured on Holiday programmes. If you're feeling energetic, then why not walk across the bridge or maybe hire a bike (you can hire them from Fisherman's Wharf)
Everybody who goes there has their picture taken with the bridge as a backdrop, so make sure you have your camera with you.
If you're lucky, the sun will be shining and the colour of the ... ...If you're unlucky, the fog will roll in and you will lose sight of the top of the bridge. Needless to say, if this happens, then it can be quite chilly, so make sure you have extra clothing with you.
Another way to see the bridge is from underneath - boat trips around the bay can be taken, just go down to Fisherman's Wharf and you'll see them advertised.
The flow of traffic across the bridge is unceasing so avoid taking the car unless absolutely ...
