    Advantages Advantages Pretty and peaceful

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not great if it's raining!

    At three miles long and almost half a mile wide, the Golden Gate Park is one of the largest man made parks in the world and it is a lovely place to while away a sunny afternoon. There are lots of things to see here, not least the amazing gardens which include the Japanese Tea garden (where the fortune cookie is said to be invented), a rose garden and a rhododendron dell which are all very pretty. If you want to be more active, you can join the thousands of cyclists and skaters who always fill the parks pathways.     Advantages Advantages Beautiful, bold, imposing, huge

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Huge, traffic (on the outskirts and through roads)

    To San Franciscans what Central Park is to New Yorkers. Huge park, divided into segments by several roads that cut through it. Large trees, green open spaces. Fresh air. In the summer they hold free, or paid for, concerts. There's always people doing exercise, milling around walking the dog. Those just taking it in, resting, families picnicing. Unfortunately didn't spend as lot of time there but still enjoyed the time i did spend. Like all big parks, its worth checking the 'You are here' maps dotted about so you can make the most of your visit there. ... more
