Premium burgers with a premium price tag

Advantages: Good quality food, excellent choice of vegetarian options
Disadvantages: Quite expensive for what it is, service a bit impersonal

...She had been to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen there before and thought it was good. I have seen various incarnations of this kind of upmarket burger bar and have been curious for a while to try one, so I agreed with her choice. '''THE RESTAURANT''' The branch of Gourmet Burger Kitchen I am reviewing is located down Wimbledon Broadway, which is a five minute walk from Wimbledon station. So I think this counts as London, non? Take The Crown from Burger King - Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Advantages: Reasonably priced, tasty
Disadvantages: Busy

...heard quite a lot about Gourmet Burger Kitchen and it had been recommended by quite a few people. Therefore when in London today at lunch we decided that we would give it a try. We went to the one in Covent Garden as that was where we were. It was very busy when we got there. Not surprising really as it is a bank holiday and it was lunchtime. We had to queue up but one of the waiters did come over and ask us how many of us there were and told us ...
...would only be 15 minutes and so we decided to wait. The good news is we did only have to wait around ten minutes. We were seated on a nice clean table and given menus. The menus are on one sheet and so are fairly easy to look at. As you can guess by the name of the restaurant pretty much all the items on the menu are burgers. There is definitely a variety of choice though. They do vegetarian options for those who do not eat meat and for those who ...

Yum. That about covers it*

Advantages: The best burgers you'll have this side of the Atlantic; good veggie options too
Disadvantages: Can be a bit noisy; not good for romantic dates with people w/no sense of humour

...Kiwis, this place simply serves gourmet burgers. Everything on your plate will be top notch from bottom bun to top sesame seed and inbetween. You might think that deciding what to eat is simpler in a place that only serves burgers, not watered down with crowd pleasers for those who disapprove of such common food. However, the selection of burgers can be daunting. Faced with a multitude of relishes as well as variations on the regular beef patty, ...
...overcome by multiple visits. The kiwi burger appears to be a popular choice with diners, possibly due to the slightly idiosyncratic serving of a fried egg with it, which gives it a bruncy feel. Otherwise, I warmly recommend the lamb burger if you don't eat beef. It comes with lovely and seemingly home made mint relish. The vegetarian goats cheese / portobello mushroom 'burgers' are also lovely. If it all becomes too much, the plain beef burgers, ...

I LIVE for these burgers

Advantages: The best damn burgers ever tasted
Disadvantages: get's busy on weekends

...nastiest food around, along comes Gourmet Kitchen and suddenly I'm in love with burgers again. The concept is simple, a burger is all about the meat, and these burgers have some serious meat. The burgers are so meaty that there's no need for chips or any side orders, although you can order chips if you MUST have them, nice chips too. They do all sorts of burgers, they are all around £7-£9 which some consider pricey, although I guess this is because ...
...I have now aquired great gourmet kitchen skills, and know exactly how to control one, where to bite and how to get the most satisfaction from one. It has infact changed the way I eat burgers, I used to just tear away at them. I could destroy any burger given to me But you have to RESPECT the Gourmet burger, it's a serious peice of food! Another great thing about Gourmet Kitchen is that all their resturants are fairly small, these means that they ...

Gourmet Burgers? rename them bone burgers!

Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: poor quality meat, plain taste, bones in the meat

...at Thurrock- Essex. This gourmet burger restaurant flagged a warning as soon as we walked in, and were asked to order at the till & pay before eating. As a frequent diner- I have to say, in all my experiances of dining out- when they want you to pay before you eat- there is never a happy ending. This was no exception. Basically I found three pieces of bone in my burger (maybe gourmet to a pig), one piece actually hurt my tooth as I took a bite ...
...eating- and felt too sick to carry on. I told the server, and she sent the manager over- he did not seem too surprised, he said he needed the bit of bone to send off for testing (yeah right), and could he take my address so head office could write to me and send me free vouchers- which in a funny way he added to ' and I would not have the beef again- try the chicken' He agreed that bone in a burger was not gourmet. No letter, no vouchers, and ...

Now that is one mean burger

Advantages: Yummyfantastic!
Disadvantages: Bit on the expensive side for a burger

A place that really does put McDonalds and Burger King to shame. Fair enough, £5-£7 for a burger may be a bit pricey, but boy, you struggle to get the mouth wide enough just to take a bite! It really is just burgers and chips, oh and a salad just to give you the impression you have a healthy option to choose from. But lets get serious, if you are looking for a burger that makes you laugh at the golden M, or snigger at flame grilled excuses for ...
...wih salad, you don't make friends with salad....) I'd never seen or heard of this particular company before, but when we heard they were setting up shop in Fulham....it sounded good! The first time we visited, i was impressed with the trendy decor and overall appearance of the place. The staff were friendly and smart which i guess wasn't a suprise as it had just opened. (But as i've visited a few times since, they seem like a good bunch!) Not ...

Gourmet Burger Kitchen burgers are gourmet!

Advantages: Great taste, great ingredients, Friendly NZ atosphere
Disadvantages: Nothing

My boss first told me about this restaurant as he is a New Zealander and the restaurant was developed by three New Zealanders and also has the input of a New Zealand chef who all missed their home cooked food. He was raving about the burgers so I decided to give them a try. There are over 20 branches now in London but I went to the one at Greenwich. It was a small restaurant but we were able to find a table quite quickly, I think there was seating ...
...fresh burgers to choose from, with lots of great ingredients such as beetroot, cranberry, avocado etc. I went with a friend who is vegetarian and they do a really good selection of vege options too which is quite rare for any restaurant, let alone a burger restaurant so my friend was really pleased. One thing that has really stood out in my mind, when I ordered my burger, the Kiwiburger they gave a percentage of the price to charity (the restoration ...

Tasty tasty burgers (& a little more)

Advantages: Location (W. Hampstead branch), value for money, and service
Disadvantages: Maybe a little pricey overall, but it is London for this branch!

OVERALL: Tasty, tasty burgers, presented well, with a really nice atmosphere! FOOD: This is why you come here: burgers. These burgers are large, cooked to order, and really nicely presented. Often burgers or sandwiches can be made at some places very sloppily, they fall apart. Here, they are well made and it looks like someone actually cares about what they're serving you. As far as variety, there are veggie options and plenty of meat and chicken ...
...Kiwi burger, something I hadn't had for years (not since in Oz, where they serve them the same way) with an egg and beetroot on it. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's nice to have the variety beyond simple cheddar and bacon, right? PRICES This is, for me, the definition of value-for-money. In West Hampstead you can't expect a bargain really, so this is about as good as it gets for a burger. With the average around 7 or 8 quid, plus 2.50 for a ...

Burgers - filling and nice

Advantages: nice burgers, lovely milkshakes
Disadvantages: can seem a bit pricey

As I travel around for work I'd seen a few Gourmetn Burger Kitchen's around but had never been to try one until recently. I had also seen online that you could print off a 2 for 1 voucher. I arranged to meet a friend in London and he suggested there as he had a 2 for 1 voucher - I thought why not, anything to save a bit of money after Christmas. When we arrived it was quite busy (it was just after Christmas) but as there were only 2 of us we got ...
...but after looking at it a while you realise how extensive it is. I am now a red meat eater but up until recently I wasn't and was very impressed that their vegetarian section didn't just contain the standard veggie burger but had a range of about 5 or 6 different types of burger (I'm afraid I can't remember them off the top of my head). The meat burger has, of course, beef but also chicken and another more unusual meat, again which I can't remember. ...

mr Lally

Advantages: Windsor is a nice area.
Disadvantages: Food was overrated and poor value for money!!!!!!

we visited the Windsor restaurant before xmas as a treat for my sons birthday. we firstly ordered a side-dish basically of chicken nuggets accompanied by coleslaw, the chicken pieces were very small. and very greasy on the other hand the coleslaw was swimming in a pool of oil. After this thought-provoking starter we were slightly disappointed. We then ordered three burgers : Hot n Spicy, Stilton, BBQ. We ate the burgers and tasted each other's ...

Definitely the place to eat a burger

Advantages: delicious, good value for money
Disadvantages: none

Gourment Burger Kitchen (GBK) is a great place to have a meal. They offer a wide variety of burgers, with ingredients to suit everyone's needs. I was initially put off by the fact that I had to go up to the counter and order and mention my table number, because that seemed like something I would do at McDonalds, however, I was mistaken as it saved me having to pay afterwards. The service is very quick, even when the restaurant is full and the facilities ...
...love going and trying out different combinations, since you are allowed to add extras. A few of my favourites are: Cheese + Chili sauce + Chorizo or the Jamaican + Mozzarella. You can taste the freshness in all of the burgers, it is easy to tell that they only use fresh ingredients, from salads, to meat and buns, unlike some other fastfood places where they freeze their food. Newcomes must be aware of the portion sizes, which are very large. Milkshakes ...

Goumet Burger Kitchen, Kingston Upon Thames

Advantages: Healthy, hearty and organic!
Disadvantages: Very big!

Great place to go have a hearty, healthy meal! Children and adults seem to enjoy it. You can choose from a wide variety of toppings on your burger. You can go wild or choose to play it safe and simply have a plain or a cheese burger. Whatever you choose, you will love it if you like burgers! They also have a choice of meat - beef, lamb, venison or chicken as well as a vegetarian option. Simple - quick in and out - you order, pay and eat. We went ...
