Grafton Centre, Cambridge. Apart from Universities and the River Cam, there are some shopping and entertainment facilities around in Cambridge. The Grafton Centre is just one of them. From one side (Fitzroy Street) looking at Grafton Centre you'll see a glass(ish) entrance, with a big 'g'. From the other side (East Road) you'll see the new part of Grafton Centre, which was added a few years ago. The main attraction apart from shopping is the 8 screen ... ...a fountain. Well Grafton centre cannot really be compared to something like Bluewater or Lakeside in London. Grafton is small compared to them, but is one of the main attractions of Cambridge. When visiting Camridge, there are Colleges, River Cam, City Centre, Grafton, possibly other new estates. The range of shops here are well not particularly good. Apart from food, they mostly cater for fashion and clothing, which once I have I don't really need ...

Advantages: excellent facilities, toilets, coffe shops, etc Disadvantages: cant always find what you are looking for
The Grafton Centre is Cambridge's latest shopping extravaganza! Containing a good selection of clothing stores, it is a 'must visit area' when shopping in Cambs. It also has plenty of Coffee stops for those parched after the short walk from the city centre!
Shops at the Grafton Centre are not only just inside, but outside on all surrounding streets too. This makes your stay at the centre much more fun, as there is more to explore and look around.
... ...Other facilities at the Grafton Centre include; Warner Brothers Cinema, Burger King, plus various restaurants to tempt your taste buds.
I would recommend Footlights for good food at reasonable prices, and with a view overlooking the center below, you can watch what is going on whist relaxing with a beer and a meal.
Parking is fairly easy for the Grafton Centre, the Multi-Story can be accessed from both ends of East Road, and once parked, the exits ...

On the shopping side you have most of high street names like WH Smiths, Next, Boots, Virgin, Mother Care, Early Learning Centre, Spec Savers, and many more. Advantages: Great for gift + clothes shopping Disadvantages: Can get EXTREMELY busy!
...10 minute walk from the Grafton Centre, I enjoy making the trip down there once a week or so for a highly enjoyable shopping trip (but try to avoid Saturdays!)
The shopping centre, in my opinion, has a good range of shops, but its forte is definitely clothes and accessory shopping. Within the centre is a reasonably sized Debenhams store, in which you can, as with all Debenhams stores, buy just about everything! H&M is also good for clothes shopping ... ...The Grafton Centre also houses a BHS store, which is great for accessories, as are the bag and shoe shops and slightly discounted perfume store which are also to be found there.
Near the main entrance to the centre is a large Boots shop, and there is also a Mothercare for all your children's needs.
As far as food is concerned, there are many places within the centre where you can eat. You can buy a sandwich from either Boots or the little cafe ...

The Grafton Centre
This is a great place for all your shopping needs. With it’s convenient car parks and many bus stops linked with the ‘Park and Ride’ scheme and other routes. It’s easy to visit and also escort your shopping home. The Centre also has facilities for leisure and eating out. The top floor is dedicated to this, containing an Italian restaurant, fast food chain stores and a ‘Warner Brothers Village’ ... ...to just ‘pop into’ whilst out. It also provides shelter on those wintry rainy days. In conclusion it’s fair to say that the Grafton centre has been designed brilliantly for those who want to shop with little hassle. Definitely a great place to visit when touring Cambridge. ...

...'Cineworld' . Unfortunately visiting the Grafton Centre was a huge dissapointment. It has rapidly gone down hill from what it was. It is filthy dirty everywhere, lacking in toilets and the ones it does have are rarely cleaned and full of litter, and throughout the mall, the doors, stairs and floors are filthy and stained and streaked, and the whole place is very outdated and crowded, with hardly any places to sit and where there are seats they are ... ...toilet paper. I will now avoid the Grafton as much as I can, it is in desperate need of a re-vamp, come on Cambridge, with the high council rates and being one of the biggest college towns in the UK, we can do A LOT better than this!!!! ...
