Never judge a book by its cover and the same could be said about a hotel, don’t go by outside appearances! For our Ruby Wedding celebrations we had decided to go on a cruise from Dover to the North Cape of Norway and as we needed to be in Dover quite early we decided to find a hotel near by and travel down on the previous day. Finding a hotel with parking seemed difficult and then suddenly we found one nearby in Folkestone, great prices offer included ... ...rooms left.
Can you hear all the pitfalls? The website made the hotel sound good, and so after guidance by our faithful TomTom we arrived about 4.00pm on a beautiful sunny Saturday in May. This hotel is on the front of Folkestone and was built to resemble a ship. What could be nicer?
Parking!
Where can I start? We couldn’t get parked, in fact we didn’t see an entrance to the car park as it was hidden by parked cars, we drove around the one way ...

Advantages: Fairly Cheap Accomodation. Disadvantages: A bit tatty, often very busy.
The Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone. This is a rather strange hotel in that it was designed to look like a ship or ferry, The hotel was best viewed on incoming ferries from Bolougne. Which is sad as ferries no longer make the trip. It is a fairly large hotel with somewhere in the region of 450 rooms. Parking: Parking can be a real problem at the hotel Burstin, especially if you book in late. They have a small underground car park which is extremely ... ...in the Burstin if you don't have a small budget, but personally I would stay at the other Grand Hotel in Folkestone if money wasn't an issue. The Grand Burstin Hotel is the best budget option in Folkestone, because it balances services and things to do, well with it's prices. ...

Advantages: inhouse entertainment,close to town centre. Disadvantages: having to be out by 10am on day of departure.
My partner and i are regular visitors to this hotel,we love it,staff have always been polite and helpful,we have never felt the need to complain,food is good,entertainment good,rooms are very good,iv seen complaints on here from people about the rooms but i have to say ,every room we have had has been good,you get what you pay for and we are always pleased with our room,if your not happy with your room then speak to a member of staff,they are very ...
