    I fist stayed in the Butterlip How Youth hotel (have to specify which one because there are two in Grasmere) when I was 16. I was impressed then and when I went back there a few weekends ago, I was still impressed. Back in the olden days you had to do "chores" when you stayed in a youth hostel but you don't have to now. If you're driving (and some people do drive to hostels) on arrival you can drive to the entrance to dump your luggage but you then have to go back down the driveway to park near the gates.
