Grimsby was the world's largest fishing port back than ... ...located in the centre of Grimsby with over 100 stores all situated on one level. Major stores include Binns, Marks & Spencers, BHS, Woolworth's, Topshop,Mothercare and JJB's, along with many other well-known household names and specialist shops. If you fancy a break why not relax in one of the coffee shops or restaurants, the restaurants in Freshney place are really nice and the staff are really friendly.

...win!) I left Grimsby in 1994, and I don't go back to visit very often. However, a heck of a lot has changed in Grimsby in that time, for this reason mine won’t be a comprehensive guide to the treasures to be found in Grimsby, more an opinion to give you a feel for the place as a whole.
I once heard Grimsby described as “the end of the line” and I believe that this is a name that suits the town very well. It really is the end of the line as far as ... ...absolutely honest most people treat Grimsby and Cleethorpes as one town anyway, they are completely and inextricably joined together, most people don’t even know where one starts and the other begins, although the border, I believe, runs right the way down the middle of the road in a terraced street called Park Street. Half of Park Street is in Grimsby, but the other side of the road is in Cleethorpes! Grimsby Town Football Club is actually in Cleethorpes ...

Advantages: A different and interesting holiday destination. Disadvantages: Not a great range of things to do, but a great place to base yourself to explore.

Grimsby was once the largest fishing port in the world, not just in Northern Britain, but the whole world, and that includes places like the Seychelles, India and Bedfordshire! Nowadays, because of the decline in the fishing industry it is a shadow of it's former self. Grimsby has tried hard to redevelop but because it is so out on a limb it is difficult to get large companies to develop here, however there is a thriving ... ...Park to see the Mighty Grimsby Town play, oh, you want to do something interesting! Well there's the National Fishing Heritage Centre which is perhaps one of the most exciting museums in Britain, it's won many awards and really gives you a feel of what it was like to be a trawlerman. Grimsby is also a great place to base yourself to explore the surrounding area. Next door is Cleethorpes, a fairly traditional British seaside resort with loads of things ...
