Whilst in Dublin for our girly weekend, we thought it would be criminal if we didn't visit the Guinness Storehouse. Opting to do this as part of an open top tour of Dublin on an averagely chilly Sunday morning, we waited paitently for the tour to reach our destination. I have recently returned from a trip with my girlfriend to Dublin. While over there, we made The Guinness Storehouse (Museum & Brewery) our top priority for an attraction to visit. I actually felt a little bit concerned walking up to the Storehouse, as it seemed to be quite deserted and it appeared as if we were walking through a Victorian industrial estate! However saying all that we went through the entrance where we found plenty of people waiting ...

For that you gain access to the museum, a paperweight with a blob of Guinness, a map and a free pint of the black stuff, or a soft drink if you so choose. The Guinness Museum (now known as the Guinness Storehouse) is based in the original fermentation plant on the St James's Gate site in Dublin, Ireland. The building in which the exhibition is based was a working building for Guinness as recently as 1988, although the exhibition itself is far more recent than this, having been revamped within the last year. As you walk in to the exhibition the first exhibit on display is the original lease signed ...

I've always been a big fan of Guinness. During my first trip to Dublin i decided not to go to visit the Guinness Brewery because coming from an "Euro-currency" country, the entry price looked a bit too high to me. I regretted it immediately and on my second trip to Dublin, last March i decided to give it a go. (also i booked online and I managed to save money on the price of the ticket). Our visit to the brewery took place on the best day of the ...
...day. On this special occasion it was possible to have, amongst various samples of different Guinness, free oysters. The visit starts from the bottom floor where you can see/touch/smell all the ingredients that will form the black stuff. Then it goes up from floor to floor showing facts, history and curiosities about this world wide famous drink. Be careful not to miss the chance to pull your own pint (and have a certificate to show this skill!) ...

Having heard that the Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number one visitor attraction we booked our visit online at www.guinness-storehouse.com before we left which allowed us to pick up our tickets from the customer service desk and progress through fastrack entry! ...The journey finishes in the Gravity Bar where you are greeted with and a fantastic pint that you can sit back and enjoy whilst looking out over Dublin. I loved the view from the bar at the top!
