Syed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, Haji Ali who is believed to be a wealthy local business man in Bukharia, in the ancient Persian Empire now in Uzbekistan. Haji Ali traveled around the world in the early 1400s and the local historical records with Haji Ali Trust refutes that ultimately he had come to Mumbai, the then Bomabay.

Advantages: Simply beautiful Disadvantages: Beggars with crying children
...last year, i visited the Haji Ali Mosque as i was sightseeing in Bombay. It i slocated in the Arabian sea so therefore can only be visited when the tide is low.
It is quite a long walk upto the actual mosque as everyone is briefly searched before entering. There are many stalls on the path which sell flower wreaths that can be placed on the tomb, jewellery and souvenirs. These can all be bought along with refreshments for very cheap prices.
When ... ...is said to be of Haji Ali, hence the name of the mosque.
The one thing i hated about it was that there were so mnay beggars sitting on the sides of the path. Many of them were old people. Others had their children out so people would sympathise with them and give them money. This actually made me cry as there were babies and toddlers crying because they had no food.
It is one of them places where you can only appreciate its real beauty if you visit ...

Advantages: Once in a life time Experience Disadvantages: a Long walk to get to the mosque
...India.. I visited the notorious Haji ali mosque. This mosque is located in the middle of the Arabian sea and looks Magnificent when the sun is out. Haji Ali mosque is also said to house the tomb of Haji Ali. People can only visit the mosque when the tide is low and Unfortunately on my 2 nd visit out of 5 I was unable to visit the mosque because it was to dangerous for people to cross..
