Fourka in Halkidiki (Greece)

Advantages: Gorgeous weather, fantastic people, great scenery
Disadvantages: Could perhaps do with a bit of a tidy up in places ?!

...our resort - Fourka. Halkidiki is split into three penisulars, Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos. These are near the north of main land Greece and are surrounded by the Aegean Sea. Kassandra and Sithonia are supposed to be the livliest of the three, although they are not busy or crowded. Mount Athos is a Monks Republic and is usually only seen by people from sea. Fourka is on the west coast of the Kassandra penisular. We stayed in the Julia ...
...clean/simple rooms (Kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and balcony), From wandering around the resort, I think most of the accomodation available in Fourka is pretty similar. Fourka is home to quite a small selection of bars and restaurants, most of which are situated around The Plazza. The Plazza is a square with grass, trees and flowers in the centre, a small road and car park and then bars, restaurants and a few shops surrounding. The restaurants ...

Pefkohori Paradise, Halkidiki Heaven

Advantages: Beautiful, Cheap and not too 'Touristy'!!
Disadvantages: Not much to do if you haven't got an imagination!!

...Halkidiki, on the Kassandra peninsula. Halkidiki basically consists of a three prong peninsula, a little like a trident that sticks out of Greece! The other two peninsulas being Sithonia and Athos. Pefkohori is absolutely stunning. It is a small town which seems to have more of the local people around than actual tourists which is a nice, refreshing change. The town has lots to offer including one of the best beaches in Europe which actually has ...
...and tavernas!! Nothing to see here I am afraid!! However, as mentioned, I thorougly recommend Pefkohori, Halkidiki to couples and families, for a beautiful, memorable and relaxing holiday!! The nearest airport is in Thessaloniki and the transfer time from the airport is approximately one hour and forty-five minutes. ...

Its Hot In Halkidiki

Advantages: Sunny, cheap, relaxing
Disadvantages: Very Quiet, not very well situated

Well I haven’t wrote an opinion for a while now and the reason being I have been away in Halkadiki, so what better to write and op on, so here goes. Halkadiki 4th October – 11th October As I have just mentioned I have just been on holiday to Greece, we booked our holiday through Kosmar (not to be mistaken for Cosmos) who are only deal in holidays in Greece, we booked the holiday about 4 months prior to departing and the cost for me ...
...for 1 week. We flew from Newcastle airport onboard air scandic, I have got to admit the airline isn’t the best of airlines (but I wont go into that now, watch this space for another op) and the flight times were early early morning and late evening departures but I wasn’t to bothered about that because it left us with a full day inbound and outbound. So, we stayed in the quiet resort of Hanioti, in the Dianysoss studios and they where ...

A great place for all holiday makers.

Advantages: sun, sea, sand and lifestyle
Disadvantages: don't wanna go home again

I went to Halkidiki this August with my cousin for a week. It ws very different to what i had expected. This is because i expected Halkidiki to be full of people who just want to go out and have a good time. However, there wasn't just those types of people, there were also couples with children, young couples, party people, old people and many more. There was literally every category of people that you can imagine. Halkidiki is an area to the north ...
...brilliant nightclubs and much more. Halkidiki is split into three peninsulas each offering unique experiences. The first peninsula is known as kassandra, this is where most of the young people who just want to have a good time going to the many nightclubs and bars. Kassandra offers water sports, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. The best places (the busiest) were Kalithea and Pefkohori. these both had fantastic beaches and good nightlife. However, ...

Lefkas Rub shoulders with the rich and famous

Advantages: Hot warms seas friendly local people
Disadvantages: mopeds traffic pollution from vehicles

Lefkas, or Lefkada, as the Greeks call it, is perhaps the least well-known of the Greek Islands. This small island is the closest on to the Greek coast, and really isn't naturally an island at all. The Corinthians are said to have dug out a channel around the year 390BC, that made Lefkas an island and made it easier to defend. Today a causeway links the island to the Greek mainland and it is fitted with a swing bridge which lets the shipping traffic ...
...tourist until after 1968, when Preveza Airport was opened to tourists for the first time. There had been a lot of opposition to it before that time and the key figure in all this was Aristotle Onnassis, the Greek shipping magnate, who was the richest man in the world during the sixties. Basically, what happened was that he bought an island in Lefkas bay, called Scorpios, and build a mansion there for himself and his family. Various world dignitaries ...

Halkidiki - Haniotti

Advantages: Great weather, food & people
Disadvantages: None

Halkadiki was my favourite holiday! I went with my friend and we had such an amazing time! Great weather, clean beach with pleanty of loungers and not too busy either! The night life was great. Where we were staying ( Haniotti) wasn't full of night clubs but full of fancy little cocktail bars and greek tavernas. The bars were great! the Sunshine was our favourite. The barmen were great fun and there was lots of tasty cocktails on offer and the ...

Halkidiki is THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!

Advantages: amazingly gorgeous beaches!, cheap food, gorgeous weather, perfect for a peaceful break
Disadvantages: If you are a big clubber you probably wouldnt like it.

I went on holiday to Halkidiki in July 2003. WHERE I STAYED: I stayed in Kriopigi, at Krassa Anasacia studios which are rooms only. Very clean and really nice people work there, cleaners everyday and immaculate. You have to share 2 swimming pools with the studios below and above you, which are right by you anyway! The main part of town was just around the corner where there were lots of bars, restaurants and shops, also moped and car hire places. ...
...clubber. OVERALL It is great for families and couples who want a romantic, relaxing holiday!!There are lots of places to go sightseeing and Athens is not that far away I deffineley reccomend you give Halkidiki a try! I hope you found my review useful!! ...

In June this year we decided that we would like to go back to Greece, only this time we would try the mainland as oppsed to our normal haunt, the islands. We took a last minute deal with Thomsons which was allocation on arrival, one week half board with a mimimum of a three star guarantee. When we arrived, our accomodation was the Hotel Palladium and it was fantastic. The accomodation, food and pool were all first class, although it was only rated as a ...
