    Not so long ago, the United states used to be useless if you were vegetarian. Hopeless, hadn't got a clue and looked at you as if you were mad. This is pretty much still the case in many parts of the country, but New York has not only caught up with Europe, it has surpassed us in good vegetarian restaurants. This is not to say that there are not still some disastrous macrobiotic places to be avoided out there - but the two mentioned above both provide imaginative and varied vegetarian dining.
