Advantages: Things to do on-site if the weather is bad Disadvantages: Cleanliness, maintenance and I'm not sure you would want to stay on site no matter what the weather
...I chose to use Haven and British Holidays for this year's holiday for two reasons. Firstly I wanted somewhere where if the weather was bad we could do things on a complex/site and secondly, I saw their advertising for half price holidays. Our holiday budget was quite low, so it seemed just the thing. ***** Website and Booking *****
The website was mentioned on the advert I saw, but I couldn't remember it. However, it was easy enough to find and ... ...got an email through from Haven confirming the new dates with a letter to print out which was to be handed in on arrival as proof of booking. The letter also contained simple directions to the park.
*****Arrival and Check in*****
The directions on our letter were clear and simple to follow, making the park very easy to find, even though the description of 'next door' to Newquay turned out to be rather misleading. It was in fact quite a drive from ...

...going on a Butlins or Haven Holiday. I myself have never thought of Haven as something special. I've seen the adverts on TV and in the paper and just thought it was a place people with low incomes go for a week in the summer. How wrong was I!
This summer myself, my girlfriend and her family went to Haven, Seaview, which is in Weymouth.

So everyone arrived at the camp site after a three hour car ride from Portsmouth. We ... ...park. Haven has a main car park where you can park while visiting the site or getting ready to collect your passes ect.
A bunch of us went in search of the office where you check in. Be sure to bring your letter from Haven to show you've paid, e.g. a website printout or letter via post. We started to look around the camp for this check in office. After five or ten minutes walking around we headed back to the car park. We all laughed when we found ...

I have visited Haven holidays with my family for the several years now, my favourite destination being Presthaven Sands Near Prestatyn.
This site opens in March and closes in November each year.
In Presthaven, as in most sites, they have a vast selection of entertainment, especially for the children, with different activities at each site.
It offers static caravans of various sizes and styles and also there is a place for touring caravans, situated ... ...There are many Haven holiday caravan parks, all with basically the same forms of entertainment, restaurant, fast food outlets and fun parks. At Presthaven, the caravans are situated in such a way that you are only a stone throw away from the sandy beech, which is a lovely walk into the entertainment centre on the park.
The other way to the entertainment centre is via ...

The camp has a mixture of static caravans and touring pitches for tents and caravans. The touring pitches have optional electric hook-up if desired, or basic for self-sufficient caravanners or tent-dwellers (we went basic with our caravan and awning). ...week we went to the Haven Holiday Park at Primrose Valley in Filey. We saved up the tokens in The Sun so all in all the holiday itself cost us about £70, which is pretty good going for 4 nights.
When we got there the problems were obvious. With it being out of season I believe they save money by cutting staffing levels and closing facilities. Having attended other Haven sites before and always having had a shower this was something we were expecting and felt further let down by.

My partner was advised to use the toilets in the adjacent complex, but the weather made this more than awkward. ...

...This is the second Haven site we’ve visited, and booking early meant we got a large 3 bedroom static caravan, one double room, and two twin rooms for £ 249.00 for 3 nights (Friday thru til Monday).
