Advantages: Fast, comfortable, children go free Disadvantages: Expensive
If you are heading to Heathrow Airport to catch a flight, you can actually check in at Paddington Station, then jump on a Heathrow Express to the airport and go straight to the departure lounge to board your plane. The whole process could take just 30 minutes!
I first tried the Heathrow Express in June 1998 when Tony Blair officially launched the £455 millions airport-link in London. I was very impressed! Since then I have used the service many ... ...journey time between Paddington and Heathrow Airport is only 15 minutes (further 7 minutes to/from Terminal 4). The service runs from 5am to 11.45pm every day in the year (including Christmas Day) with four departures every hour. There are two Heathrow Express stations in the airport; the Heathrow Central station is underneath Terminal 1 (from the station you walk to Terminal 2 and 3), and the Heathrow Terminal 4 station is obviously underneath Terminal ...

...versa. About the Heathrow Express:
The Service was launched in 1998 and ten years later is still going strong. The trains run from early (around 5am) in the morning until late (just before midnight) generally every 15 minutes. Tickets:
There are various ways to buy tickets. You can book online, buy at the ticket office or machine, or even buy on the train for a £2 surcharge. Prices:
The Express is not cheap. For example: the cheapest return fare ... ...can get big discounts. Heathrow airport workers get a 50% discount when they show an ID pass-obviously a big bonus for me!
Onboard:
Express Class is pretty good-well when you are paying £1 a minute you expect it to be! The trains are all new looking and clean inside which is a bonus. There is also air-conditioning and I love how the train floor is level with the platform so you don't have any problems with any luggage. There is also ample space ...

...the plunge and rode the Heathrow Express. What a great experience. The tube is painfully slow, overcrowded and full of schoolkids and other commuters not willing to make allowances for your oversized suitcases. The concept:

The Heathrow Express is a completely different experience.
It leaves from paddington (which could be a disadvantage for some - it isnt excatly the west end) and drops you off either at Terminals 1,2,3 or ... ...free transit between the two Heathrow stations.
It runs every 15 mins, which although less often than the tube, is more than enough. It takes 15 min to terminal 1,2,3 and and extra 5 min to terminal 4. Im not sure yet how it'll work when terminal 5 opens. It is designed for passengers with luggage, and has a certain feeling of luxuary about it.

...Continental standards. The service to Heathrow form Paddington is a god-send. It finally allows people to get to the airport without having to catch the tube (tried that with luggage??!!). You can check in at Paddington and just jump straight on the train. The service itself seems reliable, at least I didn't have any problem either way and the train is nice and comfortable. There's space for luggage and few TVs in each carraige showing information ... ...15 minutes and is suprisingly smooth given the current state of the tracks. They must be new. Once the train arrives at Heathrow, it's extreamly easy to get into the airport. The platform at the airport is clean and tidy and has plenty of automatic ticket booths. The price is around £12 one way and £20 return. A bit overpriced for the length of the journey, but I suppose they have to pay for it some way. After travelling to London with First Great ...

...a choice to get to heathrow the tube of the heathrow express. And why exactly is their any competition - the tube with luggage and no fixed timetables - or the luxury of knowing exactly when you are gonna arrive in heathrow with comfy seats an somewhere to store the luggage safely. The only disadvantage is the cost - it is more expensive than the tube but if missing your plane is at stake isn't that worth the extra cost! I can undertanst getting ...
