Advantages: Great location & cheap Disadvantages: Not that many food places around
...and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are ... ...were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put it back on!! There was an iron available upon request but we did not use that as we had brought our own, and there was a hairdryer in the bathroom. ...

Advantages: Centrally located, and cheap Disadvantages: Budget, and it shows
Feeling like another holiday, and deciding that 5 days before my uni exams was *the* best time to go, I easyjetted off to Barcelona for a short break. I wanted to go to Rome, but boyfriend at the time decided to tag along and wanted somewhere served by a budget airline so Barcelona it was. That is why boyfriend at the time is boyfriend no longer, and why new boyfriend handily works in travel and thinks nothing of suggesting exotic long haul destinations ... ...to go about a month before departure, so I crawled the net for a week or so and came up with the Hostal del Mar (Hotel of the Sea). It seemed reasonably priced, centrally enough located and not too scruffy. The hostal is part of a converted palace which results in some interesting areas inside, like the fact that there are toilets everywhere, and the existence of a sitting area (3 sofas and a table) just opposite our room.
