Step in to the impressive elegance of the Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel and immerse yourself in relaxation, indulgence, spa delights and fine cuisine.
Advantages: Very pleasant atmosphere on the seafront Disadvantages: Bar area lacking any character
Gone are the days that a holiday in a seaside resort was staying in a boring B&B with an strict landlady and having to share a bathroom down the hall usually with extremely dodgy plumbing!
Recently staying in Brighton all the memories of this type of accomodation were dispelled as we stayed in a lovely hotel. The Brighton Metropole has the charm of a great old fashioned hotel with high ceilings and a lovely exterior but with the facilities of the ... ...itself is on Kings Road in Brighton. Now for those of you that are not familiar with the street names or even Brighton itself it is right on the sea front and almost next to The Grand. We drove into Brighton on the main road from the A23 and followed the signs to the sea front. When you reach the sea front opposite the pier you take a right turn and travel approx 1/2 a mile and the hotel is on your right. It is therefore close to the pier and really ...

Advantages: Excellent 4 star hotel banging on the door of 5 star status Disadvantages: Not really worth mentioning.
...Josh accompanied me. And the Hilton Brighton Metropole is anything but seedy. Far from it, in fact! I thus feel somewhat ill-equipped to give you the full picture, but I’ll do my best anyway.
There’s a veritable plethora of hotels in Brighton, including some pretty seedy ones – and there are two Hiltons – the Metropole and the West Pier. We selected the Metropole and were far from disappointed. In fact, we were extremely satisfied. It’s a large, ... ...As a Gold VIP Hilton “Hhonors” member, I was allocated an upgraded room (No 415), was asked for my preference for the free newspaper, given a key and shown the way to our room on the fourth floor. This, I have to say, made for an excellent start to our brief stay.

Advantages: None that I saw Disadvantages: where do I start?
I'm probably being a bit naughty comparing this hotel with the De Vere Grand ( the hotel next door), but after spending a fabulous night costing £165 for evening meal ,bed, and breakfast, which included a room with a sea view, a proper menu to chose from for the evening meal, luxury toiletries in the luxury bathroom, excellent service etc, etc, we stupidly didn't go back there, we decided to give the Metropole a try instead....WHY, oh WHY?
We opted ... ...little cheaper, but I can honestly say you got at least £100 better service from the Grand. Right forget the Grand, forget the beautiful three course meal served at the table, the free wireless internet access, and let's talk about the Met.
First impressions good, receptionist nice and helpful, got key for room, opened the door to a boiling hot room, facing the back of the hotel looking out onto the loading bay and bins. There was an air conditioning ...

Advantages: A place you can book for 1 night Disadvantages: Expensive for what you get
Stayed at the Metropole this weekend. Booked 3 rooms, a Deluxe plus room for my mother (it was her birthday treat) at £210 and 2 rooms for our family at £145 each on mezzanine room. My mothers room was nice, large, seaview although the weather was hideous and there was a gap around the window where the rain came in.No bath robe but Champneys toiletries were a nice touch. However our rooms were dark with tiny windows looking our onto a brick wall, ... ...and bins. Both had dark manky nets. Inferior toiletries, no bath robes, a hairdryer that only had cold air, a flickering bulb in the bathroom.(which they changed quickly when we rang). On the whole for the money it was awful. The toilet in our kids twin room actually started off as a hilarious joke but became annoying. When flushed it made the noice of a motorbike for approx. 3 mins then changed to a higher pitch for the next 2 mins! They also had ...
