...a night at the Gatwick Hilton when I made a 'flying' visit to the UK to visit my elderly aunt in hospital after she had fallen and broken her hip. Advantages: Walking distance to the Airport
Disadvantages: Poor Quality for the Hilton name

...have previously stayed in the Hilton in Bahrain and found it very pleasant. Well that is where the good part of the story ends. We arrive to the front desk. Of all the times that I have stayed at a Hilton Hotel I have found that the bell boys would be there to greet you and basically snatch your luggage out of your hand as you are checking in. I stayed in the Gatwick Hilton for 2 nights; 23rd March and 1st April. As a general overview I wasn't too impressed with the acclaimed Hilton hotel. There was a large group of us (about 30) and we all entered the hotel via the North terminal entrance. This was good as you could walk through a sheltered walkway to the main reception.
