...a corporate account with the Hilton Hotel chain because we have a lot of people based off site and they often need a hotel near the office if people are visiting HQ (heaven forbid, there is nothing worse than going back to base!) This is the hotel they use the majority of the time because of convenience. I had to stay there a few weeks ago for some training (yawn) so I thought I would write a review for you lovely people.

Advantages: Superb, friendly, efficient staff who immediately make you feel at home. Most efficient font desk. Disadvantages: Room was a little small - but this IS London!
...experience! I'd booked the Kensington Hilton for an overnight stay since Josh's Godparents were getting married at the Chelsea and Kensington registry office. Convenient, I thought. A bit further out of town than I'd planned, as it happens! That said, the location would certainly suit most people - it's by Holland Park and the local street is delightful, rather like a village within London, with charming shops and an attractive pub nearby; perfect ... ...of the television; a common Hilton touch, but a nice one. We later found the bed to be extremely comfortable and enjoyed a perfect night's sleep. The minibar was very well-stocked and, had the wedding not been such a good one, I am sure that we would have enjoyed exploring all it had to offer! A comfortable chair was next to the occasional table with complimentary fruit basket. We'd ordered a cot (or crib) for Josh and this was provided. He's too ...

Advantages: Cheerful and often cheap. Disadvantages: Small, cramped rooms.
...one think, "I'll book the Hilton this month" other than the area, which I personally like. If you consider your hotel part of the experience, you probably shouldn't book this one. However, if your hotel is a base where cleanliness and a decent bed to flake out in after a busy day are the only requirements, this may suit you well. I have noted that children are well catered for both in the restaurant and on room service menus, cots are provided and ... ...**** Getting There ****
The Hilton Kensington is on Holland Park Avenue, within easy walking distance of Shepherds Bush and Holland Park Stations (both on the Central Line), so expensive transport is perfectly avoidable (use the Journey Planner at www.tfl.gov.uk/tube/). Shepherds Bush is closer, but navigating the busy Shepherds Bush roundabout is no fun, whilst a stroll from Holland Park Station is far more pleasant. Turn right out of the station, ...

...smaller side compared to other Hilton Hotels I've stayed in. Nevertheless it was warm, clean with fabulous air con / central heating system. The bathroom was also small and the corridor into your room from the door isn't a ver big gap. I had facility to use the internet at a cost of £15, use of their ethernet cables. Room came with plenty of clean towels, shower gel, shampoo, shower cap. More importantly a hairdryer - which I'd forgot to take on ... ...well I can't really find one, only thing I could moan about was the location but being in London a tube ride will get you anywhere! The staff were very friendly, even recieved a phone call to make sure everything was ok in my room.
The bar and meals were reasonably priced and were ok - not the finest of meals but I prefer to eat outside of the hotel anyway.
This hotel is ideal for a short stay with not much luggage. Overall, I'd recommend this ...

Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Overpriced, poor food, poor rooms
The Kensington Hilton is a slight misnomer as it is closer to Holland Park. It is easy to find, just off the motorway. The underground car park is not owned by Hilton, but you can get a discount coupon from reception if you are resident. The exterior and lobby are very impressive, with green coated doormen and at least two people manning the concierge desk at all times.
Rooms however are a big disappointment. Small and cramped, often with just a ... ...hotel gives the impression that it was last overhauled in the early eighties and it could do with a large investment to bring it up to scratch. When staying at this Hilton you are paying for the lobby and location. I would not recommend this hotel. ...
