Hilton New York, New York City

I was expecting an incredible stay in the “Hilton New York”, because, as you should expect from the name of the hotel, it’s THE Hilton in NY, so I thought it’d be incredible. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my stay there, but I certainly could have done without some of the problems I encountered there. I went there with my girlfriend and arrived there at about 11pm after a nice 7 hour flight from London. I don’t know whether the porters go off work before then, but there certainly wasn’t anyone around to help us with our suitcases. A “one-off” I thought. My husband and I stayed at the New York Hilton in Central Manhattan over Christmas and New Year. It is in a superb location - on the same street and only a block or two away from Radio City Music Hall. Central Park is in walking distance, as is Times Square, which is a great place to be over the holiday season! The rooms were good - very spacious, clean bathroom and the maid service was excellent. The hotel bars are very well used and extremely welcoming, and the American marketplace restaurant is OK, but if you are in Manhattan there are better places to eat than your hotel restaurant! I stayed at this hotel in christmas of 2005. You can tell the quality of the hotel just by arriving, your bags are taken and greeted very nicely by the bells boys and hotel staff. I had a swift check in, which is a benefit because it allows you to travel the huge city straight away. All the main attractions are very close to your doorstep like central park, radio city and times square, anything else you need to see the underground station is very close. I am like the song newyork NEWYORK I have been twice winter and summer , hilton hotel was in summer for four days i took my my 14 year old girl with me, she was so impreesed with hotel lobby she wanted to stay all day in lobby people watching ,ifelt like million dollers did not matter my clothes at lower end of market the whole decor of place like palace; never seen a bed as big as this ;four phones in room and 1 in toilet mind you it was very formal room big bed large desk with green leather top big leather arm chair if im honest it was like new york every thing in hotel was ;big staff not ... more
