...through the geological make-up of Hong Kong. Then you experience 4 natural Hong-Kong ecosystems. Man is introduced as the yao-people, and we then learn how they were superseded by the dynasties. Hong Kong changed hands many times during the dynasties and eventually was even evacuated through threat of pirates.
As you journey to the second floor you will learn of Hong Kong under British rule and then how it suffered through the second world war.
... ...Kong became an international metropolis and the handover in 1997.
Overall it is an amazing story.
There are also many temporary exhibits. These are more of the dusty artifact persuasion, and generally not as interesting.
The museum is HK$10 for entry, free on Wednesday, which makes it well worth the entry fee. ...

Advantages: Complete interactive history of Hong Kong Disadvantages: Quite long for younger children
...charts the entire history of Hong Kong from prehistoric days up until, and past, the handover of power from Britain to China. The museum follows the timescale chronologically starting with dinosaurs. There is an interactive element to some sections which I found helpful as parts of it were long and started to drag.
