Advantages: Funky, small, beautiful and friendly Disadvantages: Bit of a noisy street and room quality looked variable
This is a great little place to stay, right in the middle of the Old Town in Havana.
It's really more of a glorified guesthouse than a hotel. It's built around a couple of courtyards over two or three floors and it's part of the same building as the hotel next door.
The central courtyard is beautiful, with trailing plants and pots all over the place.
Our room was absolutely huge, with a balcony running around two sides of the outside of the building, ... ...in the early morning when deliveries were being made. We only stayed for three nights, but it would be worth trying to get a quieter room, off the main street, if you were going to stay any longer.
The location is great in terms of seeing all of the sites in the Old Town, however the place wasn't exactly jumping when we were there in May. I suspect the night life doesn't really centre on the Old Town.

(+) All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach! (-) Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!
