Advantages: Very reasonable price, well located for town centre Disadvantages: Only the odd little thing that didn't quite match the image they want to present
This is a 60 room hotel close to Darlington Town Centre and owned by Duncan Bannatyne - one of the Dragons from the "Dragon's Den" TV Show. It is based on a 1820's house with recent, tasteful extensions. On arrival my first impression was a bit of a thumbs down as car parking was congested but I managed after a couple of minutes. Advantages: Immaculate and Sooooooooooooooo comfy bed Disadvantages: Overpriced vending machine
...of August......Didn't want to leave.
Hotel and health club opened February 2007, so is still very clean and tidy. We had high expectations as owned by Duncan Bannatyne. We were impressed......extremely.
If you book directly online with Bannatyne and not through a booking agent/website, you can get a room here from between £25-60. This price includes full use of the health club.
The bedrooms and immaculate and the presentation is wonderful, you ... ...either, very soft sheets and expensive duvet/covers/pillows. Shower is powerful and could fit 3 people in if you wanted...no bath.
Although close to the slip road....not much traffic noise.
Very close to local shops, very easy to find and staff so very helpful.
One and only downside to this.....vending machine had limited stock and very expensive ...
