Hotel Tourist looked very promising when we first arrived after a long drive from Palermo. The bar area is very pleasant, and the staff friendly and welcoming. Our room was good - fairly basic but clean and sufficient for our needs. However, the quality of the food was not so good - and unfortunately didn't improve during our stay.
We had booked half board - and quickly realised we should have gone for B&B, as there are some fabulous restaurants ... ...the quality of the food ranged from average to poor.
Outside the pool area was large, but didn't feel particularly safe for children, with no children's area. The beach across the road was lovely, although we could have done with a deckchair attendant to help drag chairs into position!
Overall, it's a nice base to explore Cefalu, which is a beautiful little town with many lovely bars and restaurants. But I would definitely recommend staying B&B ...
