    Advantages Advantages Some decent products

Disadvantages Disadvantages Surly, rude assistants and poor layout

Do House of Fraser actually want to sell things? On several occasions I have asked assistants this question, because it appears to me that they don’t really care if they sell things or not. Normally I am a very patient person, with high tolerance levels. I do not complain easily and generally give people the benefit of the doubt. I’ve tried to like House of Fraser, honestly I have, but it has disappointed me on too many occasions. So it gives me great pleasure to give it one star! House of Fraser is one of Britain’s largest department stores with over 50 shops. I can’t comment on all of them ... more

Advantages Advantages classy ,helpful assistants, great stock

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This department store is not in every city but if you have one you are very lucky. My nearest one has about three or four floors with cosmetics, gifts and clothes on them. I love the presentation of the tore it's very classy and when I have the money I definitely go on in an have a look. They have some good offers on here and the sales can be really good to. As soon as you walk into my nearest one there are many cosmetics counters from Clinique, Tommy Hilfiger to Christian Dior and Tommy Hilfiger. One of my favourite counters is BeneFit, I love their make up it is really different and so great ... more

Advantages Advantages Great presentation, nice staff

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A little expensive!

House of Fraser, or Army and Navy as it was previously known, has bought business and people to Guildford for many years now. But why is it that people keep coming back? What is it about the House of Fraser experience that keeps luring them back to the store? My nearest House of Fraser has been shut for about nine months. But, after huge rennovation, it has now re-opened it's doors and it's stunning. It has marble floors, glass bannisters, chrome escalators... the list goes on - it's a nice modern building. Inside, there is a great collection of just about anything. There's clothing, homeware ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good coffee bar....

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rude staff, over priced products, poor layout

I went into the GlasgowHouse of Fraser this weekend after being given £100 worth of vouchers. I had been into the store on a couple of previous occassions but each time, I had the feeling that I wasn't good enough to shop there and that I didn't belong. When you start to worry that a bouncer won't admit you because you aren't wearing the right shoes or if your hair isn't combed just right, or god forbid your toddler isn't wearing clearly visible designer labels, you know it isn't going to be an enjoyable shopping experience. I decided to have a look for some shorts and t-shirt for my son since ... more

Advantages Advantages Wide range of womens clothes

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Extremely rude assistants

As a person who has worked in retail before, I know the general customer service procedures, even though you would agree politeness is common sense.....or so you would think. I was in a rush when I went into House of Fraser the other day...I needed a top to wear that night, and as usual I had left it until last minute, no suprise there. I was on my lunch hour from work, and because I'm not the sort of person to skip a meal, I was rushing! So I went over to the Oasis department, picked out a top I liked...rushed frantically over to the changing room to be met by two sales assistants talking ... more

Advantages Advantages Wide range of items

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying Security Guards, visually off putting

House of Fraser could be such a good department store but there is a number of annoying things about it, all of which I think could be sorted. I am referring to only one store, the Milton Keynes branch, as I have not yet visited others. The problems are that firstly and the most annoying is if you enter the store in a group of more than two and you are all youngish in age at least one security guard will follow you, quite obviously, around the store. It feels like being in jail and usually makes use leave straight away. I do not understand why this happens here yet at other department stores ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish, Trendy, Good Service

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A Bit pricey

Very stylish! A good store that offers a satisfying shopping experience time after time. If you a looking for stylish, trend setting and classy fashion this is the store to visit. The price is very often affordable. There are times when the clothes do get a bit on the pricy side, but you know that you are paying for good quality- so it is worth it. There are other features to the store, other than the clothing, the is the cosmetics section, which has very essential and good products. There are consultants to offer advice and help you part with your money in the best possible way- so when you ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice products, and great browsing atmosphere

Disadvantages Disadvantages Problems with payment, staff not too friendly

I have been shopping with House of Fraser for years and have had a mixture of positive and negative experiences with them. On the positive side, House of Fraser has the best selection of designers / brands available in my area. The stores are well set out and have great music, although older shoppers may not be so keen on the tunes. There are a lot of staff around so if you need to ask something they are there. The clothes they have in stock are very nice, expensive, but that is nothing to do with the store itself. The store is quiet, in terms of numbers of customers, especially during the ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice layout, easy to access all shops, great selection of shops

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Frasers in Argyle Street/Buchanan Street is a great department store to visit if you like both designer clothes and high street shopping. You'll find shops such as Morgan, CK, Ralph Loren, Elle, Miss Selfridges, Warehouse, Oasis, to name but a few, all within Frasers. However, the design and layout within Frasers means all the shops are open plan, ie you dont have to leave one to enter the next - quite similar to the likes of Debenhams. You can also pick up a selection of garments from different shops and try them all on in any changing room and this goes for paying for your goods aswell. Keep ... more

Advantages Advantages Great benefits, and a wide range of products

Disadvantages Disadvantages credit scoring done to get a loyalty card.

House of fraser is an excellent department store. The staff are all very helpful and enthusiastic to help you. It sells a wide range of products, from clothes, perfume and luggage, to furniture, beds and glassware. Aswell as being a highly popular high department street store, it also boasts the best store card around. With the account card and master card they offer a typical 19.9% apr, which is very advantageous indeed. You are awarded with 3 points per pound you spend, and once you reach 1500 points you recieve a £15 voucher to spend in store. The only thing to be aware of when siging up to ... more
