Please treat us with respect

Advantages: Some decent products
Disadvantages: Surly, rude assistants and poor layout

Do House of Fraser actually want to sell things? On several occasions I have asked assistants this question, because it appears to me that they don’t really care if they sell things or not. Normally I am a very patient person, with high tolerance levels. I do not complain easily and generally give people the benefit of the doubt. I’ve tried to like House of Fraser, honestly I have, but it has disappointed me on too many occasions. So it gives me ...
...House of Fraser is one of Britain’s largest department stores with over 50 shops. I can’t comment on all of them, and I’m sure that they have some good stores with helpful assistants. But I haven’t been in any of them! This op is based on my experiences in the following House of Fraser stores: London Oxford Street, London Kensington High Street (known as ‘Barkers’), Reading The Oracle and most of all, London Victoria Street (known as ‘Army and Navy’). ...

Ooooh Fancy

Advantages: classy ,helpful assistants, great stock
Disadvantages: none

This department store is not in every city but if you have one you are very lucky. My nearest one has about three or four floors with cosmetics, gifts and clothes on them. I love the presentation of the tore it's very classy and when I have the money I definitely go on in an have a look. They have some good offers on here and the sales can be really good to. As soon as you walk into my nearest one there are many cosmetics counters from Clinique, ...
...my favourite counters is BeneFit, I love their make up it is really different and so great always doing what it promises. Many counters will let you get some samples and they will let you test products. They are always friendly and happy to explain their products to you. I like to have the money and shop in here because it is a great feeling to buy expensive things. This department store is more for the women. On the same floor as this there is also ...

House of Fraser Guildford

Advantages: Great presentation, nice staff
Disadvantages: A little expensive!

House of Fraser, or Army and Navy as it was previously known, has bought business and people to Guildford for many years now. But why is it that people keep coming back? What is it about the House of Fraser experience that keeps luring them back to the store? My nearest House of Fraser has been shut for about nine months. But, after huge rennovation, it has now re-opened it's doors and it's stunning. It has marble floors, glass bannisters, chrome ...
...with all big department stores, House of Fraser is somewhat more expensive than the small retailers, but you get the full experience of trying out, and hands on. And, also, you may not get home delivery from a small retailer, although you can make a saving going small business. All the goods are very well presentedaround the store, with clear pricing. The toilets and store in general is very clean, and, during the recent refurbishment, they have ...

House of Fraser - House of Hell

Advantages: Good coffee bar....
Disadvantages: Rude staff, over priced products, poor layout

...them. In defence of House of Fraser, they do have a great coffee bar which was very child friendly. However, it is worth pointing out, this is contracted out to Cafe Nero and isn't really anything to do with House of Fraser. In conclusion, if labels and designer names are important to you, and if you can afford them, perhaps House of Fraser could be like a second home to you. If you are like me, a working mother with three kids to look after who ...

R E S P E C T find out what it means to me

Advantages: Wide range of womens clothes
Disadvantages: Extremely rude assistants

...rush when I went into House of Fraser the other day...I needed a top to wear that night, and as usual I had left it until last minute, no suprise there. I was on my lunch hour from work, and because I'm not the sort of person to skip a meal, I was rushing! So I went over to the Oasis department, picked out a top I liked...rushed frantically over to the changing room to be met by two sales assistants talking....so being the polite girl that I am :).....said ...
...but I wasn't aware that House of Frasers company policy was to be as rude and unhelpful as possible?! So I ran across the store bare foot to get a new top. After trying it on, I gave the top to the girl at the till who said to me..."You can't pay here"...I was fuming by that time and told her, in the least annoyed way possible, that the girl from Oasis had sent me there etc etc. In the end, I got served...and left 45mins later... Late back for ...

'Jail' House of Fraser more like.

Advantages: Wide range of items
Disadvantages: Annoying Security Guards, visually off putting

House of Fraser could be such a good department store but there is a number of annoying things about it, all of which I think could be sorted. I am referring to only one store, the Milton Keynes branch, as I have not yet visited others. The problems are that firstly and the most annoying is if you enter the store in a group of more than two and you are all youngish in age at least one security guard will follow you, quite obviously, around the store. ...
...CCTV in place. Does House of Fraser just not use theirs? A second problem is a lot of the staff seem to be up themselves as though they have landed a top job yet they do not seem to do their jobs properly. Clothes are always screwed up lying all over the place as though it was a jumble sale. Surely this is not good for business? Finally have you seen their website. You cannot buy off it and there are only about fifty items on view. You may ask ...

Fashionable Fraser

Advantages: Stylish, Trendy, Good Service
Disadvantages: A Bit pricey

Very stylish! A good store that offers a satisfying shopping experience time after time. If you a looking for stylish, trend setting and classy fashion this is the store to visit. The price is very often affordable. There are times when the clothes do get a bit on the pricy side, but you know that you are paying for good quality- so it is worth it. There are other features to the store, other than the clothing, the is the cosmetics section, which ...

House of Fraser

Advantages: Nice products, and great browsing atmosphere
Disadvantages: Problems with payment, staff not too friendly

I have been shopping with House of Fraser for years and have had a mixture of positive and negative experiences with them. On the positive side, House of Fraser has the best selection of designers / brands available in my area. The stores are well set out and have great music, although older shoppers may not be so keen on the tunes. There are a lot of staff around so if you need to ask something they are there. The clothes they have in stock are ...

Frasers - a great collection under one roof

Advantages: Nice layout, easy to access all shops, great selection of shops
Disadvantages: None

Frasers in Argyle Street/Buchanan Street is a great department store to visit if you like both designer clothes and high street shopping. You'll find shops such as Morgan, CK, Ralph Loren, Elle, Miss Selfridges, Warehouse, Oasis, to name but a few, all within Frasers. However, the design and layout within Frasers means all the shops are open plan, ie you dont have to leave one to enter the next - quite similar to the likes of Debenhams. You can ...

Shop till ya drop!!!

Advantages: Great benefits, and a wide range of products
Disadvantages: credit scoring done to get a loyalty card.

House of fraser is an excellent department store. The staff are all very helpful and enthusiastic to help you. It sells a wide range of products, from clothes, perfume and luggage, to furniture, beds and glassware. Aswell as being a highly popular high department street store, it also boasts the best store card around. With the account card and master card they offer a typical 19.9% apr, which is very advantageous indeed. You are awarded with 3 ...

House of Fraser (Guildford)

Advantages: Friendly Staff, Good Selection of products
Disadvantages: Can get crowded on Ground Floor

A very nicely laid out store which is easy to navigate. The escalators are placed very nicely in front of a large window to the rear of the store which offers some nice (ish) views. Now, the Store I found the electronics/ technical part very useful and helpful on two occasions. I found they had a good selection of products and on both occasions I was able to find something there that I couldn't find anywhere else in Guildford. This was a laptop ...

Threatening, racist security guards

Advantages: None whatsoever
Disadvantages: Bad customer service, Do they actually want to sell anything?!

I visited House of Fraser (it used to be called Kendalls) in Manchester a few months ago. As soon as I entered House of Fraser, I was followed around by several security guards. One of them was quite threatening and kept on just stopping in front of me and staring at me. I was so upset that I complained to the House of Fraser store manager in writing. He contacted the firm that runs the House of Fraser security services, AFC Group (www.afcgroup.co.uk). ...
